Phew ! Thank goodness - I need a break too. My bottom's gone numb from sitting on this chair and my right arm is sore from 'refreshing' the page over and over..... :silly:

#Gittany Judgement: eye-witness to object thrown off the balcony was credible. Gittany's evidence on the balcony incident was "glib".

Typing as I munch.

I know we're not getting word for word - but I am still slightly concerned with the statements that the entirety of the crown case rests on poor Josh's shoulders.

I thought we unearthed legal precedence that gittany could still be guilty of murder if Lisa died in her attempts to escape?

The chain of causation couldn't have been broken in the 69 seconds - not with the desperation for escape building for weeks and particularly in the last 48 hours.

BTW I felt really really proud of Lisa for changing the password to "Trust". It was showing that her sense of self, and her self worth was starting to grow again.

It's nice to think that one of her last acts of defiance was recognising what she was worth. Bless her.

There have been times through Gittany's trial where his family has smiled and even laughed. No talk and no smiles right now. Only silence.

They'll be plenty of time for talk and smiles when they go visit him in jail.

...With judge alone, reasons have to be given, not just the verdict. So she has to be thorough

Justice McCallum takes lunch time adjournment. Looks like she's only half way through reading Gittany verdict document.

Lisa's doll.....

Lisa Harnum's mother, Joan Harnum, carries a doll, believed to have belonged to her daughter, at the NSW Supreme Court as the judge hands down her decision in the murder trial of Simon Gittany

Yes, I'm also nervous after her saying that the verdict depends on the eyewitness report. I really hope this is not her way of preparing to say there isn't enough evidence.

As for murder because she was trying to escape, I never heard the prosecution use that argument. I think it would contradict their claim he threw Lisa over. But maybe they will use it as an appeal if there is a not guilty verdict?

P.S - Thankyou tweeters! Awesome job!!

Fear not friend. We haven't met the neighbour yet.
And wait .... there's more ....
The Judge appears thorough, and is not buying any of his glib baloney.
Says Josh's eye witness is credible EVIDENCE
Says SG's account is GLIB and
Gittany's account of the way Lisa fell as 'unconvincing'.

(Notes: Gittany was relying on no witnesses and no evidence to support murder.)
