Oh, how good is that!!! Their strategy worked. I'm not crazy about the 'safe and well' description, but it is their way of telling us that she is alive and not incapacitated.


What a good day for children today. This little girl located, the little lost Qld boy found, Brett Cowan refused an appeal.

No I'm not happy with the 'Safe & Well' statement either, hopefully she has been taken into care until they complete their investigation.

I wish all days were as good as this with great results for some.

Glad she was located! Poor girl may have been through hell. I wonder who was arrested. Parents? Sitter? Relative? Hopefully they are charged to the full extent and not just given a slap on the wrist!!!! Just relieved they found her.

I'm very pleased this young girl was located I'm glad someone assisted the police in finding her. I wouldn't read too much into the police statement they have to ensure the identity of the girl is protected as much as possible. If they announced arrests of people especially relations it could lead to the girl's identity being publicly revealed and this needs to be avoided at all costs. They would not have released the image without good reason and grave concern for her welfare. Most likely they are going to have to carefully and patiently interview this little one to find out what harm she has suffered and by whom. I just hope she gets all the help she needs to recover from any trauma she has endured and that she is now able to grow up in safety and comfort.

I don't know what is right and wrong.....they (police) have been trying to identify this child in danger for over a year...from a very good source - child protection workers were alerted and asked over a month ago if they could identify this child....I know the victims right to be unidentified is foremost....BUT...can't help how wonder how much more damage was done before Vic Police went "Social" how much emotional/physical abuse in those those 12 months....maybe it's time for a rethink .... to actually ask victims if they would rather been identified as a child the moment police are aware of wrongdoing TO STOP IT ASAP......or are you feeling better that we didn't identify you...even though that meant you were molested/raped/videotaped.....etc for an extended period of time till we could identify your abuser and protect your identity...Seems like a dumb question to me!!....She was identified within 3 days of her image being posted on social media.....and I sure as hell don't know who she is...nor would most of the people who shared the post..

Agree 100%. Most of the protection laws actually protect the perps more than the victims . Probably if we had less pedo judges and lawyers it may be different.

I totally agree Australia seems to be very resistant to whole life terms and I don't understand why. If you have serial paedophiles and rapists and killers they should never be released into the community again protecting the public must trump any rights an offender may believe they have. If you commit these dreadful crimes then you must life with the consequences for your own life if that means life in a cell then so be it.

I might be off track but, when i heard about this it reminded me of the couple from melbourne (Adrian Xanthoulakis and Vanessa Blazevski)that were caught making child videos. they were caught in May 2015 . Could it be that they are still trying to identify the chiildren in the videos?

This is horrible. Whats sad is his brother Scott Xanthoulakis who he shared the local watering hole with, was supporting him saying he innocent. No wonder everyone boycotted there business. Apparently his working at a store in Melbourne called the FlyFisher and has started a business Wilderness Fly Fishing. Makes me sick, i hope people boycott the business

Women can be very much just as depraved, evil and sick as men can be. Deserves wider recognition imo.

Makes me ponder how many female perps get off scot-free because people assume pedos are always men?
