The contents of this article are interesting:

Specifically:

“We had a message about a lead regarding Iona College in Western Australia, which is a Catholic boarding school. There’s supposedly been a string of missing persons all within the two year levels surrounding mum’s,” she told the Geelong Advertiser.

“A number of people think there’s some connection and all the circumstances are quite similar.

“Because she’s changed her maiden name back maybe they were finally able to track her.”

Feel that this badly requires resolution. Did she disappear of her own accord? Why don't the police provide details of the laptop? An experienced crime solving team could at least tell us who wrote the card.

The card had the standard message inside *** 'Dont cry, life is too short not to smile' *** is it from Her? Can't they use forensics on this? What type of water bottle?

A 'Geelong Advertiser' article on 9 June 2015 says she had been going through a tough time, however did enrol in a Photography course recently. She had said to her daughter that she might go to Melbourne that night to watch an AFL game live.

Baffling, I hope police have searched everywhere for her. Rest in Peace Lorrin if you are no longer with us.

Just found out the ex has an aircraft license. Police would need to search said aircraft for DNA.

Also someone on this website posted about Geelong north in 2013 at her employer was somewhat shifty. Police should look into this too. Maybe she knew something she shouldn't, hence the missing laptop.

Some more detective work could yield great results.

So the article has further information of a Red 4 Wheel Drive that she was seen getting into the driver's seat of by several witnesses. The 4 Wheel drive was seen near her house. I have never heard this before.

Don't miss out on the headlines from Police & Courts. Followed categories will be added to My News.

Fresh bushland has been searched for the body of a missing Geelong mum more than 11 years after she disappeared, it can be revealed, as new leads come to light in the baffling cold case.

"Police will search an area of bushland west of Geelong for missing Bannockburn woman Lorrin Whitehead.
Ms Whitehead hasn't been seen since leaving her home in February 2013.
Police say the new search is based on intelligence that her remains could be in the area."

'We've got a responsibility to Lauren, her five children, her elderly parents, and the tight-knit community of Bannockburn to solve this investigation,' Detective Sergeant Steven Murphy told reporters.

'We're considering all of the theories in relation to Lorrin's disappearance and that includes foul play.'

'I can only begin to imagine how difficult the past 12 years have been for Lorrin's family and loved ones not having any answers about why or how she disappeared.'

A second witness reported seeing a red 4WD parked on the nature strip of Lorrin's property over the weekend of her disappearance

Police launched an appeal for information last year for further information about the vehicle as Ms Whitehead didn't own a red 4WD at the time of her disappearance.

Update on search by Victoria Police:

"Wednesday 29 January 2025 at 4:45 pm

Moorabool Crime Investigation Unit detectives are conducting a search of a Dereel farm in their continued search for Lorrin Whitehead who went missing nearly 12 years ago.

A dam has been drained and an excavator has been brought in to search for any sign of Lorrin, who was 42 at the time of her disappearance.

Today’s search is based on intelligence that the mother-of-five’s remains may potentially be located in this area."
