Me too ... I hope it’s some real news or at least a significant piece of the puzzle, fingers crossed.

I wonder if it's new information, or that the inquest has finally been given the go-ahead.

Possible the announcement of the inquest, but the title of the podcast gives the impression of a break through, but media likes to sensationalise so who knows lol.. I hope it’s something that gives or could give an answer

Gah! I knew it. The same as when they had a big news item with "new footage" of Marion that they neglected to say was prior to her disappearance. Given they said in the last podcast episode that an inquest is a certainty and won't be declined, it's more of an expected announcement rather than a major development!

From Facebook for those not on it ......Watch 7News tonight at 6pm for a major announcement following our investigation. It’s running in all states. A new podcast episode called Turning Point also drops just after midnight.
Yes and another post that says the coroner confirms an inquest will be held

  • #67
Yes I was just coming to the post that there will be an inquest.

Can't find any articles about it yet, it's all Facebook and very brief...

Maybe that's the reason for the new episode, announce the inquest first, then release the latest episode soon after.

I don't go to sleep til well after midnight so will be haunting my podcast site.

The Lady Vanishes: An inquest will be now held into the disappearance of Marion Barter, the first to be triggered by a podcast investigation where previously no crime had even been considered.

Inquest is due to be held mid next year

After the inquest is announced, isn't that when everything goes quiet for ages, years sometimes.
And then we get the news that the inquest is delayed

Feeling kind of cynical right now.

I was feeling a bit not so great when I wrote my above post. Hadn't had enough coffee !
I have recovered and once again feel hopeful.
Wow there's going to be an inquest!

I'm so happy for Sally and family, friends and everyone!

Am feeling much better than I was in my post above but too late to delete it. Should have had another cup of coffee.

I'm so happy there is going to be an inquest.
I'm sure there is much more to be learned.
So happy that this turning point has been reached at last.
And Sally never gave up, while many would have.

I've only listened to the first half of the latest episode but what great news that there will be an inquest! Even if it comes back an open finding, Sally will finally know everything that the police have about Marion's disappearance.

  • #75
Yes I can't wait to find out what new information has been discovered, or anything we didn't know before.

  • #76
I guess we know now that the police don't believe that Marion is alive under a new identity - this was still the belief of some people I think. Sad for Sally because it's confirmation that her mum has almost definitely passed.

It's great that Marion is also now on Interpol's missing persons list. I hope that means that the Aus police can get cooperation from police forces in other countries - i.e. Luxembourg.

It will be fascinating to see what evidence gets made public as part of the inquest although sounds like we'll have to wait another year to hear about that.

I still want to know what the blimming find in the LA library was!!!

  • #77
Yes that library thing must have not been found to have any substance but I'd still like to know what it was anyway.

The amount of times I've spent searching for what publication it was in, hours and hours.

How does it work going to a Coroner’s inquiry, will the NSW detectives working recently on the case just stop once they hand over their brief of evidence? If the cops are currently investigating FR and let’s say he was a strong person of interest at the moment, would they still pursue the lead, or by going to a coroners inquiry does this mean that there may not be anything to the FR lead?

View Yellow Notices

I don't know if this has been posted but here is Marion's Interpol Yellow notice flier.

On Conversations they mentioned this and i'm pretty sure they said the investigation keeps going while they are waiting for the inquiry. That was my understanding anyway.
