Smith is alluding to that RB bought a car just two days AFTER the last known evidence that Marion was alive, ie: the optometrist!
Erm... so they think he bought a car to hide the body? IMO.
Quite possible… I’m wondering if that car can be traced and tested for MB DNA?

I should mention, the optometrist was 13 August 1997.
This gives some indication that perhaps they don't believe Marion withdrew her cash.
Maybe RB spouse or another of his victims hiding in the background, not coming forward ??

In the meantime, there were three administrative matters:

1. Tender into evidence a 2 page statement from investigating police from 28 April (yesterday).

2. Something about 2 items relating to a protective order.

3. Schedule of dates to allow for the exchange of written submissions:
- - assisting parties submit written submissions by Fri 1 July
- - interested parties submit written submissions by Fri 26 Aug
- - any parties reply to submissions by Fri 7 Oct
-- oral address on Thur 27 - Fri 28 Oct at Coroners Court NSW, Lidcombe

Plus, Coroner said she will try to have her findings available by 10am, 30 November 2022. They post them at Coroners Court NSW- Coronial Findings

Must say I was also in the camp she came back.. but I have big doubts now too
I am still on the fence. I know BS kept saying "after MB returned on August 2" and also " the last proof of life in Grafton" but he also asked AKA directly "did you visit an optometrist in Grafton". I am hoping for more evidence from an investigation O/S will clarify at a later point because the postcards postmarked after August 2 and the timeline of the phone call are sticking points for me.
EDIT Sorry, misread that thought you said have doubts that she didn't come back.

In the meantime, an order was submitted and I think parties will have a chance to submit and reply.
No idea what that is about.
Perhaps giving an opportunity to submit and reply to evidence or clarification of evidence?
Yes, I was hoping the 2 protective orders would be read out....who?

SL statement was eloquent, courageous and SL deserves justice.

IMO, the Nissan Bluebird wagon QBI 806 is key to solving Marion's disappearance.
Initially, RB tried so hard to deny it's very existence, then, when faced with evidence tried twice to explain it's disappearance. First he muttered that it was written off in an accident, then, when that was disproved, he claimed to have sold it as a "rust-bucket wreck" within days of acquiring the new Mitsubishi, although the Nissan remained registered in his name until 1998. What happened in that station wagon?

Maybe the protection orders are for his kids? Maybe they have testified against him?
