I'm not convinced at all that she felt the need to drive all the way to Grafton for an eye check if she did have dry eyes etc.....the cover for him is having her placed in Grafton and his Iluka BS about Marion wanting to buy a place there.
He is covering something from that area.
Either someone saw something or someone close to him knows something IMO

Compelled to post after the most recent revelations which have made clearer two things that never sat right with me…. Firstly Marion having a fling while being in the beginnings stages of her relationship with JW, with whom all things described, she was living her dream life at the time….

And secondly though related is the coincidence of the apparent meeting decades previous and her placing or answering an ad to the same guy - the slim odds raised a massive red flag.

I’m impressed that they truly gave him a grilling and made him squirm but thinking about what happened in those months in 1997 made me sad while listening.

The medicard use stands out… but perhaps an attempt to indicate proof of life and give any tracks time to disappear.

I wonder if there’s anything else that stands out as not fitting the narrative (apart from everything!) I hope answers can be found wherever they are hiding.

I am just not sure on the proof of life by using the medicare card, by all accounts MB did not exist, why make an effort to place her back in Aus ? surely that could only make police ( if investigating properly) dig deeper, Had the police actually followed this up in a timely manner which would be the point of proof of life and it wasn't Marion whom the Dr had seen then they would have followed the trail, something that RB would have wanted to avoid.

I think it was either Marion ( maybe lost her glasses while overseas ? ) or DHD but using it not for proof of life, just using it because she could. Probably one of many money saving scams RB subjected his wife too

Oh I agree absolutely, he wouldn't have offered that BS story about Iluka unless he felt there was a chance of a witness placing Marion in the general area. It could also be because Marion DID use her Medicare card and he realized it placed her in Grafton at the same time as him.

I also remember that he once said that the only time he was ever in Grafton, was to referee at swimming carnivals. It would be interesting to know if there was a swim meet in Grafton on the weekends of 9/10th Aug or 16/17th Aug.
There's definitely something he was trying to offer an innocent explanation for back then. He later dropped all mention of the Grafton area.

okay, simmer down, Mrs Peel. . . I came to say this. I haven't finished the most recent podcast, but I find it exhilerating so far. The amount of discrepancy between the Brief of Evidence and RB's testimony is stunning. If ever a witness implicated themselves, this is it. These discrepancies scream CON MAN, LIAR, FANTASIST. Actually, they're not discrepancies. They're bald-faced lies! I've felt more hopeful than I have in a long time about this case. Surely the Judge will find RB himself is the biggest load of hmm, er, evidence in this case.

The testimony of the pilot, of the real FR, of linking the FR personal ad to the coin business (!) and the coin business to Mme Flamm-- and I'm only halfway through!

It's odd, very careless to leave such a trace.

I lean towards Marion coming back and withdrawing the cash in person but not exactly under duress at this point. Even though she is agited re. Sally not passing over the money for the car and perhaps an uneasy feeling, Blum's manipultion would still need to be in play for her to do so, unaccompanied as appears to be the case.

Once Marion worst fears are confirmed I expect she would quickly feel a weight of humilation and would very possibly not wish to return to her family any time soon. Perhaps she tried to get the money back from RB and he chose to end her life.

Sally has always said Marion would NOT have been upset about the money for the car.

My theory is Marion told Blum, innocently in the course of a conversation that Sally was purchasing the car, and it was Blum / associate who told who ever that Marion was upset - HE wanted the money.

2. Marion was deceased on 13th August - and the money began to be withdrawn from her account by a female accomplice on 18th August at Byron Bay.

If the police believe it to be the latter, WHO are they investigating as the accomplice?

So just getting back to the Advert placed in Dec 1994 in NSW under the name FR and the post on TLV FB page today.

But there was another Ad he placed in Feb 1994 that a Sleuth found on Trove:

It could be a possibility that Marion saw THIS ad in Feb 1994 while she was living in QLD and finally met him later down the track and he told her his name was really FR to align with her once being married to JW - and using the commonality of soccer to swoon her.


1994 - January - Marion purchases a home at 15 Merinda Court Ashmore for $180,000 and starts at The Southport School
Marion DID NOT sell her home in Gerringong for almost 12 months after buying the property at Merinda Crt in Southport. This means she had two properties in 1994/ 1995.

1994 - February - Corinda Ad placed with a QLD PO Box

1994 - December between the 12th & 15th- Marions Wallet stolen at school - IMO it is not so much the actual timing of the wallet stolen BUT the fact that it was reported to the bank and this is where he gets the information ( for me it has always been the bank /transfers/house sales/ connections that he has, that gives him the information needed to get these women).



1994 Dec 10 - FR Ad placed with NSW PO Box -
phone number linked to premises leased by RB in Ballina - Ballina Coin Investments.
.......a 10min drive from the Big Prawn ( where JO said she dropped RB off)


1995 - He is back and forth to OS numerous times on JAL using Richard Westbury - he must be busy getting ready to swindle someone I say...........


1995 - Marion is in a relationship with GE from TSS

HE states at inquest his relationship with Marion started 1995/96 " we talked on the phone, went out for a drink" ( she doesn't drink and neither does he so THAT IS A LIE )

late 1996 - RB and family move from Ballina to Wollongbar


Marion was a smart lady - while she certainly moved quickly to resign from her job and head OS, I can't see her jumping headlong into these big changes in the space of a few months.

I think he took his time with her, groomed her, for months on end, spun his usual BS about him being some ASIO spy or some such thing and that she needed to get out of TSS fast by that time he had his ducks lined up OS.
