Why did a 67 year old man rent student accommodation at the Universite Libre de Bruxelles (ULB) when staying in Belgium? From what I can see much of the university is in or around the old Army Barracks.

In 2019, I stayed in student accommodation in Bath, England. The students often go home during the summer holidays so the universities offer the student accommodation to tourists. I had a modern apartment with my own bathroom, the restaurant stayed open and buses were frequent to go to the city. I believe this is quite common in Europe. So I assume he was there in July and/or August in 2006.

Maybe Marion returned to confront him and turned up at the family home, only to see DDH. That would have enraged RB and maybe they killed Marion and withdrew her money.

I wasn't aware that Marion would have known RB's address. The story he gave about Marion and the pilot bringing the boxes there and then taking them away again is not true IMO.

That sounds more like what RB would have had someone say eg DdH.

He may have visited the Cu Chi Tunnels out from Ho Chi Minh City (Saigon) and/or War Remnants museum in Vietnam. This is a common tourist activity to do and Vietnam has a French colonial history that would enable his new ”Walter Mitty” story to be, on the surface, plausible to potential scam victim.

Also in his fantasy story he was probably more likely to have suggested that he was part of the Indochine war in the 1940s fighting as a French soldier rather than Australian Army in the Vietnam war. (See the movie Indochine with Catherine Deneuve…as a French language film I bet he saw it!)

The Cu Chi Tunnels in Vietnam are what I was imagining when the story of the lady dying there in a tuneel was mentioned. I visited them a few years ago.

I took the “eyes and ears everywhere” comment to mean they are following all leads and talking to anyone who crossed paths with him… like Ilona’s kids, his ex wives, friends, schoolmates, whoever they can find. But I think they’re particularly pursuing the serial k / poison angle. Looks like podcast will continue for some time.

My view is RB didn’t really need Marion to return to Aus, and he seems consistent with leaving women stranded. (Unless it had something to do with her name change.)

However, if Marion never returned what was the purpose of a new car for just a few months?

If Marion did return, either with him or to find him and confront him, where did she stay?

I just can’t make sense of it.

I'm on the view that RB didn't need Marion to return to Australia because everything he did once he returned could have been done by a person posing as Marion under his directions eg DdH. I think he found a woman in Europe (or simply an accomplice) who was willing to pose as Marion on the flight using Marion's Remakel passport with her own photo. He has had a habit of leaving women stranded so that's what he did - whether he told her or not that he was returning to Australia or had an accident and was in hospital, it doesn't really matter. But I think it is likely that Marion didn't even know he was returning to Australia. Perhaps RB was the one who bought Marion's airline ticket and he forged her handwriting on the incoming passenger card which he had saved up from a previous trip and gave it to his accomplice. I still think that Marion told Sally she would not be hearing from her for a while is because she was looking forward to meeting RB's (accomplice) friends - Maz and the Dutch dentist - and going to Amsterdam with them re one of her postcards but MB met her demise at the hands of the Dutch dentist and Maz took the flight.

Now with Marion out of the way, RB could proceed with his scam in Australia without the fear of Marion returning unexpectedly.

The usual reaction to his buying another car is that RB could have used it to transport MB's body. His story was that it was for his daughter to drive but she was too young then to drive. I have assumed that he could have bought the car to enable him to conveniently tie up loose ends eg sell Marion's items on Gumtree or The Trading Post and deliver them to the buyer, get him and DdH to the bank each day without worrying about being seen on public transport or having the cash stolen, nobody would recognise him/them in the new car, and going to Grafton and so on.

Like many other people here now I just cannot imagine MB surviving with him here from August to October without becoming suspicious of him and phoning someone especially if they were not together 24/7 which isn't his MO. I have never seen RB as a murderer but I wouldn't put him past hiring someone else to do his dirty work. I also cannot see him selling organs to Japan.

So why check the liver? It appears that most of his victims have been over 50 and would not necessarily have perfect livers so he would be hoping that their liver is damaged and if someone poisoned them with a poison which does not leave a trace, their death could be put down to liver disease.

Absolutely.

It is so bloody heartbreaking in every sense.

So many people let SL down over the years, including MB family, the NSW police have so much to answer for....that KB throwing SL under the bus like she did, shows how incompetent the NSW force are.

The women who encountered this pig would be scarred for life. Humiliating and harrowing for them.

~ APRIL – Says he was bashed and robbed of 50 000 Euro on the Gold Coast ( CCTV proves otherwise) - the 'inheritence' he says he declared and brought back with him at Perth airport / later says it was raised for his impotent problem.... opps sorry I meant to say Prostrate Op money, that he declares the $$ was raised by his "cousins".....

A quirky note I had down for this same year.......in Ballina
Police have warned that there are some chemically altered 10-cent coins in circulation.

This photo makes me think he might also have been impersonating a woman as part of his frauds. Like it wouldn’t be a huge stretch for him to impersonate Marion to withdraw money. And didn’t he want one of the other women to cut her hair short and dye it blonde ?

Anything relating to IK seems to be off limits lately - posts being removed etc etc.

IF I did post it all up, I would be booted off - not willing to have that happen just yet.

I am more than happy to share it all to help the case, but I am also sensitive to her family living and the respect they deserve - their mother was also a victim of AH's and another Marion - only they didnt have the means to fight for their mum like SL.

IK needs a whole page of her own. She deserves so much more than a bare patch of brown grass with no headstone.
She was an innocent victim in this, the beginnings of his reign of terror and abuse to women all over the world.

I dont hate people, but my god I am beginning to hate this piece of human excrement.

IK started my interest in this case and I have not left it alone since then.

It is like a full circle, it started with IK and Marion is slowly showing the world what he has done to them. It will not end until IK's family get the answers they deserve and can stand beside Marions daughter and share in the closure of it. It is one of the biggest case of miscarriage of justice in Australian history.

I hate that his family are protecting a monster. They should all go to prison with him!
