I only see a ‘Miss G Walker’
Yes me too! I cant see a Walker travelling with her parents which is what she implied at the inquest today....IMO

Did DDH know passenger lists were still available from that time??? (I certainly didn't) To cross reference her alibi / recollection of events???

Do we know Diane's full maiden name??? Could she be called by her middle name???
And her parents full names??

Yes this is the passenger list that was put up yesterday and the only Walker on it is this one:
Thanks yes that is what I saw too .... Did I hear correctly, that her parents lived in Vaucluse??
Or does the Balgowlah address fit somehow???

I found her parents' names by searching for birth announcements on or around her birthday - I am not sure if I can post them though? Even though I believe they have both passed on now.

I have searched them and I can't immediately locate any record of them traveling. IIRC, in the inquest today DdH referred to "the Russian ship". I am trying to focus on ships that are either USSR made, owned, or have "Russian sounding names" (very scientific I know) but nothing yet.

I searched passenger lists on the NAA site and all I can find is Wouters coming over in 1969. Am I missing something? Or was what she said another lie?

Miss G Walker = Gwendolyn Olive Mary Walker, british, born 1909.

All other families are listed with Mr, Mrs, Mstr, Miss. Doesn't appear to be a Miss D Walker anywhere.

Furthermore, she said she had a sister, why wasn't she on the Chusan too? Because none of them were.

THAT reaction is the real her. The incredulous look at the question being reframed in a more aggressive manner. She’s not some meek woman, she’s just playing one on tv.
I think she is just as much a con as her husband is !!!

Yes she said they went over to the UK on a Russian Ship, and returned on the Chusan .... That is also what I heard too ... imo

I can find a 20 year old ‘Bank Clerk’ who arrived in 1969, but I don’t think it’s her. Can’t find her in 1970.

I though her sister died young according to ancestry, but maybe she had another that I couldn't see

Today she said she went to stay with her in Cessnock.

I believe that list you posted earlier with 2 Walkers was passengers who got on the ship in Adelaide, Australia bound onward (in their case, for Singapore). I don't think it's showing passengers who departed London for Australia. It is confusing but that is what I got from it after a couple of reads.

If they were DdH's parents and she were traveling, she would be listed as well as Miss Walker. Also, this is only from Adelaide, not the Sydney passenger list.

These are Russian Cruiseliners from that time ....
Soviet MS Ivan Franco "Poet" Class Liners - Page Two (ssmaritime.com)
But they didn't appear to start coming to Aus till 1973 ...

These are all the Walkers I could find on passenger lists for the Chusan.
I will put them all together and hopefully someone can eliminate or work out !

J. Walker does appear on both.... but no D.Walker

The Chusan stopped at many ports along the way. Often staying at each for a few days. I don't know the specifics to that journey, but typically, passengers could get off and wonder around, or even spend a night in a hotel so long as they returned to the ship before it departed again. So it's possible that they took names of who disembarked and embarked at each stop, including those that were only getting off temporarily, right?

I know, I am just putting up what I find as I go. As none of us know if she is being truthful or not at this point!
