I would have thought they'd have statute of limitations issues with any fraud charges.

There is no statute of limitations on fraud offences and victims are able to first exhaust recovery options, and then report the matter to the police at a later stage.

D memorys has been proven to be unreliable today as per the misunderstanding explained
by Casseldon about the date of the cruise ship and he even admitted that could explain the discrepancies from both of them.
I found her really vague and easily confused and i had to remind myself that I am sure she has had to process a hell of a lot over the past year let alone a life of transient uncertainty and ggod knows what else she has endured ....

I just cannot imagine what it must be like being a public spectacle and all your family on display
for all to scrutinize etc in such a horrible circumstance . Just awful IMO and i noted D reactions changed dramatically when she was questioned re her children , she became defensive as a mother would when your children appear threatened .

TBH If i was Marion and still alive i would have been very hesitant to out myself back then let alone be quick to come forward into this very public s... show ...

When observing for deceit, it's really useful to find the 'baseline'. In other words, observe them when they are most comfortable and speaking about something you know is true. Then, compare that with every other time they speak. Does it match the 'baseline'? If not, it might imply deceit. So if RB speaking stronger and confidently was a baseline, then what on earth was the rest of the day? It was also a very stark contrast to the frail old bumbling man at the very beginning.

I think definitely there is truth in there but I think his explanations for continual name changes as.. ‘perhaps fantasy or I can’t give you a reason’ are a long way from the truth.. so he’s truthful with basic timeline and admitting to things but let’s face it they have evidence so of course he knows when to be truthful…if they can prove otherwise..
I do think he has the gift of the gab (obviously slowing down nowadays but I can imagine in his prime his stories would be captivating to certain women.

Yes i agree "I cant give you an explanation "is difficult to challenge because it isn't actually stating anything so it is not a truth or a lie

Thank you. I was looking for a record of her coming into the country around 1970 other than on the voyage we looked at. But I haven't found one. The records seem to stop at 1972.

Agree... I thought we were getting there today when they asked RB about his extramarital affairs ... but no...

I think they are trying to establish that his version of events may not be the truth by catching him out with so many inconsistencies / aka lies...imo

like when they questioned him over all the name changes by deed poll and licence/passport/electoral roll changes. It was asked - so is it fair to say you are very familiar with the process involved with this. Implying that it’s entirely possible that he assisted Marion with her change of name.
