If we assume he was running his scam on many women after 1994 (ad posting date/many overseas trips) it is interesting that he stopped using Japan airline & FR name after trip with Marion — as opposed to after trip with any other victim? Like he really needed to cover his tracks after Marion because something happened beyond the scam.

Of course, maybe his trips during those 1994-1997 time didn’t include other victims, but I’m very doubtful of that. Pre Internet I’m sure he received many responses to his ad. Probably too many women to scam all at once. I’m guessing he saved them up and went through his list of women one by one.

So do you think that RB found some way to get an invalid pension in Belgium by claiming he got the injuries while in the Gendarmerie? Or that is only the story he gave to Centrelink so that he would receive a Disability pension here? Or is he receiving both? I noted today that Diane has been receiving the Carer's pension ever since he received his Disability pension. I predicted that would have been the pension she would have been on. Do you think there is any truth in Diane having cxxxxxxx? (can't remember the name of it) so that he can say that she has memory difficulties and her testimony may not be correct? Could he have forged the document he gave to Casselden?

I thought DH said he gets the invalid pension due to having Post traumatic stress disorder, ya know been a full time victim and all

I think the best people to ask about DH medic issues and memory are her children, if they are truthful. Do you think we will get to see them on the stand ?

I'd say he has a good reason for mentioning it. Otherwise he wouldn't have.

If you live in the city 20mins is nothing, If you live in a small town 20mins is forever. I moved from a big city to a small town and it took me so long to get my head around people complaining that it took them more than 20mins to get somewhere lol

I get the feeling that if he was operating as a conman in this era he’d be into MLM style crap. The coins was just his thing back then. I wonder whether his fingerprints connect him to his previous aliases and arrests / prison time.

I also wonder if there are other missing women in Australia from a similar timeline: I suspect though that he might have had multiple attempts at defrauding women and Marion was perhaps one where it actually resulted in a reasonable amount of money.

Do we know what kind of tea chests it was that Marion had? Do they mean those small wooden trinket boxes or the ones that are like crates?
This is for my own peace of mind only - I had a very vivid dream last night about the tea chests in RB's garage that I am not going to put out into the universe.

I am wondering if Diane flew overseas in 1997 (using a fake passport that RB organised for her on a different flight)

Monique. I think it was Monique….Or maybe some other women we haven’t met yet.

I take it to be like “camphor boxes”, do you know that term? Large packing crates that people many many years ago might have packed for a sea voyage. My grandma had some. You might see something similar (but longer) at the foot of someone’s bed. These were about half the length of a double bed

It might have been Monique, but it sounds so far like she's rolled on him pretty easily. Not sure this would be in her best interests if she was working alongside him.

:confused::confused: Good to know, thank you.

But maybe that’s why she’s rolled?? “I was young and dumb” might be part of a defence??

I hope this inquest is giving courage to other victims to come forward with their stories. It’s so shameful to be victimized and many remain quiet afterwards. The women speaking up are quite brave. I give G
Do you think it is possible that he already knew Marion and she had some idea where he lived - so he had to move so she couldn't show up at his place? Especially if he was planning all along to steal some of her things, and he was afraid she might show up looking for them?

Such a mystery!
I would guess he contacted many women who answered the ad, maybe had affairs and/or initiated some superficial "friendship," then proceeded to scam one or two at a time. Months/years later reconnecting/rekindling with women he first met in 1994/5-- whenever he needed a new victim ... "Remember me, I've never forgotten you blah blah..." Just my guess, but given that he only placed one ad we can find, I'm guessing it generated years worth of victims.

Did we get new names/aliases of him after yesterdays revelation that he had soooo many more. Did they just state that or did they name them all? Due to work i can only see about 1/2 of the inquests.

Sorry if i missed it! Thanks in advance!

Living in a totally different timezone + working without the option of secretly watching/listening i enjoy all of you commenting, informing & joking so so much. Thank you for keeping me up to date!!
These answers & comments he gave… incredible. WW is such a unique character.
Btw, based on his appearance (height,…) he seems a bit dutch instead of Belgian/French to me. Who knows with this man.

Yes, I agree. I've always thought he looked dutch! It's funny that in court yesterday, when asked about JO, he went off on a tangent about Oldenburg in Germany. Oldenburg is right next to the Netherlands! And we know he frequents Amsterdam. And Wouter is a dutch first name!

Unrelated, has anyone noticed he has a stamp in his passport from the Philippines? Yesterday he mentioned New Caledonia. It astounds me that this man has been terrorising every corner of the globe for at least 60 years.

We already had these
Ricky David
Fredie David (claims it's his brother)
Chaim de Hedervary
Chaim Frederick David
Chaim David
Bernard Dupont (claims it's a friend of his)
Christopher Dupont
Tony Greca
Christopher Stein
Fleming
Wilson

But these are new. I just wrote what I heard, sorry about the spellings!
Anthony Gretch
Atilla Dupont
Charles Gayon
Francis David de Hedervary
Frank Melon
Frederick Dehedervaru (ends in U not Y)
Frederike De Hevedervary (female spelling of Frederick)
Gaetan ???
Guy Devio
Remy Lajoie
Wouters Willy
Zabdeel Zilly?

For those who didn't know, Wouter (without S) is a first name, meaning Walter. Adding the S turns it into the surname Walters. So there is a chance he might've been, or had an alias, William Walter + surname.

This is Burwash at the time we are looking at.

Can someone clarify if in Belgium or French:
  • Is Willy a real name people give babies, or is it just a nickname?
  • Isn't the full version William?
  • Wouldn't it most likely be Guillaume?
  • How common is the name Willy (with this spelling) in 1939?
Thank you!

The junction of Spring Lane at Burwash is literally a 2 minute drive or 13 minute walk to Rudyard Kipling’s estate at Batemans now owned by the National Trust. Lots of middle aged tourists of the wealthy single woman kind!

My ears pricked up at the first name. Anthony Grech. I’m Maltese heritage and Grech is a Maltese name.
