I'm just wondering how many people have ever seen a tea chest, apart from in very old movies.
I kept thinking that maybe D didn't know what a tea chest was. I was hoping that a picture would be held up of a similar tea chest.
Was it a fancy one. Or do they all look the same.

A tea chest is made out of thin wooden sheets, about 80cm tall and 50cm x 50cm wide and was usually lined with a thick tin foil and basically used for moving stuff , especially possessions being sent overseas. Now we just use cardboard boxes.

Actually, this could work! Initial reports from Sally and podcast had Marion getting dropped off at bus stop on the 22. But when they found passenger cards, it was amended to the 23 as that was the flight date. Maybe SHE DID spend a night in a hotel with him  Awesome pick up!
His flight from Aus was a few days before hers though. Unless I'm missing something?

If he was actually on that flight, yes :)

August 1997 they buy the 2nd car
11 days after RB returns
and 9 days after Marions supposed return

DdeH said this was bought for her daughter to use.

There were multiple withdrawals from MB account from August onwards. And the medicare was used in this same month.

This is interesting given they never had another car prior to this time and why buy a car for daughter when she wasn't of age yet to drive? Think she was 16 at the time ???

Maybe she was trying anything she could to ‘raise the dead’ so to speak, or should I say raise the widdle blue bits - gotta give her some credit, it was worth a try.

oh god lord :D

16yo

I'm not sure of the exact rules in NSW at the time, but when I got my provisional license at 16, I had my own car (a white Mitsubishi magna station wagon as it so happens).
At the time you only needed to be on your Learner license for 6 months. This was in early 2000's

ETA I was in South Australia at the time though so NSW may have been slightly different

I thought this was already stated in the trial?
Forgive me if I misunderstood... RB has a long history of avoiding detection by immigration. Not sure how he does it. He comes in and out of countries on different passports. Sometimes seems to be two places at once, or nowhere at all, or have an accomplice. Anything is possible. But no, the court has not fully established yet that he definitely left on that flight and had no connection to Marion and Marion's flight. I'm sure we'll get to that soon. But I totally get your point.

I can't help feeling these relationships might be an elaborate cover for something bigger..suitcases left in Amsterdam etc..could RB be a courier for illegal diamonds?

In NSW they can get Ls at 16 and Ps at 17.
Was that true back then? I ask because when I got mine (back then) we got our equivalents at 15 and 16, but now both are 16.

"you carried your underpants in your hand?"

You just carried your underpants in your hand? Might just go down in history as the best question.
