DDH didn't say that he introduced himself as Freddy/Frederick. She said that she always knew him as WW and just decided to call him Ric/Rick because she liked the name. It didn't make any sense whatsoever, and Casselden pressed her on this. I believe that he even asked her if he was already going by Frederick and she said no.
It was RB in his questioning that offered up the Freddy the frog explanation and completely undermined her story.

Yes that is what happened. It was that very discussion that got me on the WW brothers path.

In 1972 electoral rolls Robert Gordon Walker was living at 23 Vaucluse Rd. He was a company director. Peggy Margaret Walker was at the same address - company secretary. Diane also listed at same address - secretary

Do we have the marriage details for Robert Gordon & Peggy Walker? What was her maiden name and is there a UK connection for their daughter to show possible dual citizenship on the Passenger card?

I'm building myself a spreadsheet on the amazing NAA file. Found several interesting things which I'll post later. But one thing to throw out now. The criminal record obtained by Australian police in 1980 shows no European criminal activities for 1970, 1975, or 1977. It appears those are years he is in UK (or simply not getting caught). So, no doubt, he's committing crimes in UK, but under what name?

What a convincing liar he must have been all these years - even to authorities. It's incredible. How on earth did he get the pension for PSTD/depression and maintain it all these years as well as you can recover from it? I would never have thought you could get if for that as I've had it myself.
The young impressionable Diane, 12 years his junior, probably didn't know what hit her. I'm watching a series called Who The Bleep Did I Marry! It's pretty amazing how you can be fooled by someone you love, until it all unravels. I mean, look at JO when she sees RB coming up her driveway - for most of us alarm bells would be going off as in "what the bleep is he doing here" but JO says something like "hello love, would you like a cup of tea?" JO was totally lovely, trusting and kind but he fooled her. The penny only dropped when those documents went missing. Conmen have an answer for everything and this could be D's story. MOO

Ah, maybe the other address at No.55 was the business address? Will have a look.

He applies for residency as WW based on marriage to IK in 1969 View digital copy
He applies to change name to FdH in 1976 just prior to marriage to DW. then applies for citizenship.
(based on docs in NAA)
Inquest day 7 2hrs 05mins in, AC questioning RB why he applied for leave to remain in 1969 as WW but application granted as FDH, even though he could not legally change name in Australia as not yet a resident and did not have citizenship. RB replied he did not go to BDR himself, a lawyer did this. So passport as WW and leave to remain as FDH..forged name change certificate?

My inquest notes say there was a Richard Lloyd West passport in 1987 and a Richard Westbury passport in 1992. I will have another listen to see if I got that right...

Famous last words: "I therefore suggest that efforts be made to monitor his [F D de Hedervary] return to Australia." Mr. W Muirhead, 5 Sep 1980, Australian Citizenship Department

Sadly, F D de Hedervary doesn't return to Australia for six more years. At least in that name. The year before, 29 Jan 1985, in Australia, he gets a replacement driver's license in the name Chaim Frederic de Hedervary.

Death notice for RGW from SMH on 21/01/1987 shows children. Interesting they are named as “Anne and Ricky”. More alias names or just family nicknames?

also the one for PW from SMH on 5/9/1988 shows “Diane and Ricky”

This is great! Thank you for posting this up @brjakj .

Interesting to note that son RW who is listed in fathers notice, is not listed in mothers death notice the following year..

From the very beginning RB was using Australia as a getaway. Going in and out with various passports. From one of the 1980 investigations:

- 1969, Oct - Days after getting 3 mo residence status, Willy Wouters leaves AUS, in an unknown name.

- 1969 Nov - AUS Immigration issues a "stop" card for him. He's not to leave AUS without questioning. They were already suspicious. 1969!

- 1970 bef Feb - WW returns to AUS in unknown name.

- 1970, 15 Feb - WW leaves AUS as Willy Wouters.

- 1971 - returns to AUS via ship on which he meets Diane. Using name Fredy David. Enters AUS on unknown name.

- 1971, by Dec - leaves AUS in unknown name.

I know you guys are light years ahead of me, but I'm trying to get an idea of how RB operated. He was a full-on, non-stop criminal before his first step on AUS soil and his first snuggle with young Diane.
