You beat me to it mishy66. I had drafted a similar response as follows....

I am intrigued by the fact the Fredy David as RB stayed at 59 Dolphin Cresent Whale Beach. The house may now be in the Penney family ownership but in 1971 it was likely in the hands of the Le Boursicot family. Only 3 years earlier an advertisment appeared in Le Courrier Australien promoting M L Boursicot's Import / Export Business from the same address. Since 2000 the Courrier Australien has been co-owned by a very reputable member of the Le Boursicot family BJY Le B. That family was also in the meat packing business just as the DDH's Walker family WAS, and possibly with links MJR (the butcher) as an alias for RB. Was Fredy David possibly scamming the Le B family, forming a partnership or perhaps just a family friend. Both RB and MLB mentioned they were polyglottes in their advertisments.IMO
Yes I posted about the meat connection above the Boursicot Le Courrier post.

I am not so sure now that RB was MJR....just going on what the MB FB page has revealed - J having been in contact with him and the documents I unearthed some time back.

I am now thinking that MJR worked with the company owned by RGW....

Mr Bernard Le Boursicot is very well connected in the la Perouse French museum.

Why did Fredy David use 59 Dolphin crescent on his 1971 Chusan arrival card..? Is it possible he met Boursicot or just stole his address ?

This is the translated bit that I was able to see.

"Missing Persons: What Happened to Marion Barter?

Aachener Zeitung: Aktuelle Nachrichten & Informationen › Panorama

3 hours ago — In Australia, an unexplained missing person with a mysterious connection to Luxembourg and Belgium has caused a lot of media interest: For 25..."

Behind a paywall, but maybe some of our Belgian or German WS members may be able to read it.

It is good that Marion's case is becoming more well known overseas.

Mmm. Perhaps Fredy David stole his address from the le courrier add
to use on arrival card. March 71

Somehow I think he ended up in Vaucluse with Dianne.
I have a question to ask the WS. Has Dianne ever had a job?

Yep possibly.

The Ad has the Initals M L Boursicot and not B LeB.
But I took it to read, "Monsieur" Le Boursicot as the other men are also referred to "M".....

Who knows.
There is certainly something to nut out here with the address and the people who lived there.

Have either of them ever done a days work in their lives.....apart from sponge off the Australian government?

Remember she always puts Stenographer on her cards and he says she worked at her family's cafe

Does writing down people's food and drinks orders in shorthand count as stenography to some people... !?

  • #468
Now that is funny!
Knowing them YES! lol

  • #469
Yeah possibly.

The Ad has the Initials ML Boursicot and not B LeB.

It might just have been her stenographer skills that impressed him enough to marry her. He probably thought it was a clever secret code he could use. Anyway she waited a few years while he was serving time in jail,. Did Australian immigration know that?

Something that I’ve been thinking about with this guy is similar to what people do with cars.
You find a similar make and model and duplicate its numberplate attaching it to your car.
You have now ”cloned” that car.. there are two cars driving around as one. The only way to tell them apart us to start looking at vin numbers etc but to the eye it looks like the right car with the right number plate.
I feel like he’s just cloned people he wanted to become that suited his needs for whatever con he’s working on at the time.

I agree and this is pretty much what identity theft is. It's also not necessarily always about stealing directly from the cloned person. It could be about using their documents to obtain money from other sources in fraudulent ways. Even to the point that the authentic person may never become aware of what has been done in their name. Such as the real FNR for example.

In the past, prior to the international sharing of information and the internet and mobile communications being what they are, financial fraud detectives would completely write off debts if they couldn't locate a person and understood they were overseas. The manpower, time, and expense of trying to locate someone was simply not worth it. If that person were using a cloned ID in the first place, then they could be sure the debt would never catch up with them.

In the old days, plenty of people who travelled overseas would work a few years and then return back to their home country leaving behind a heap of credit cards in debt, overdrafts maxed out, loans unpaid, catalogue and hire purchase items not paid off, rented equipment such as tools or electronic goods or vehicles not returned. People would do that even in their own real identities if they felt quite sure of not returning as they knew they wouldn't be chased. Not so today but that past world was the one RB was inhabiting.

I believe RB probably uses whatever documents he has of someone else to the maximum capacity in all sorts of different ways even if it's just 'small' things.

I couldn't really understand the Belgium translator!
If it's the link to an overseas news article that I posted.

Vermisstenfall: Was geschah mit Marion Barter?

I was only able to see a bit of it that I translated. I posted that part.

The rest was behind a paywall and I'm not a subscriber.

But now the case is becoming more well known, there may be those WS members who do subscribe .

Actually I think the language may be German, I'm not sure. so you might mean some other post altogether.

The more I hear the more convinced I am DdeH has a big role in all this.

It would be so easy to play the kind caring coerced wife role knowing there's a fortune to be made being married to a swindler that she has known since 1971 .....

Lets hope this goes to trial and is shown around the world, so other women can come forward and tell their stories.

SL has uncovered the biggest Bonnie and Clyde type case in Australia history IMO
