Just speculating, but a likely scenario is IK was asking for child support or for him to return whatever he stole from her, or she would report him. He would rather kill than pay up.

Another scenario is police started asking questions and he knew she would be honest, so she had to go.

Child support wasn't a common thing in the 70's in Australia, most women didn't seek it as it was a lengthy, expensive and often embarrassing court process. Remarrying was a more common way to be financially supported. The child support scheme was introduced in 1988 in Australia.

Do we know if this was paid out? This claim that required expedited production of a death certificate? Despite the complexity of this case?

I also wonder if he used rub in tan to change his or his victims appearance .
Also Marion going to the optometrist in Grafton might have been at his insistence, something weird about him trying to find faults in his victims. A form of control to find the health weaknesses. Not saying Marion was weak.
Marion appeared absolutely exhausted and fell asleep with her palms up at Sally's. That's weird too. Rohipnol?

Oh! And the fact the kids got an inheritance from his mother in 1998, despite saying in court they didn’t. That money is key! Investigator will 100% be trying to trace that money and get the kids involved.

Might be a dumb question to ask but how could they find out if they received money when they can't even look at Marion's bank accounts.

RB was a bit vague at the inquest when it came to his divorce with IK. Were they divorced? Did he marry Diane bigamistly? I assume IK knew RB had illegally entered Australia. Did the latest podcast say he possibly married IK bigamistly too?

I’m sure those working for SL consider IKs death should be part of any investigation into RB.

Revealing his daughter to DDH
And possibly knowing more than she should about his antics in Belgium and in Australia.

Putting a baby on a plane with another person IMO means needing to get her daughter safe in case she wasn’t.

But then they are together in Lille?

Just re-listened to the podcast re IK. The team know but do not disclose the reason IK and her daughter returned to Europe on seperate dates/flights, the departure cards we have all seen on NAA. What I thought was new was that the podcast stated RB and IK lived together in LIlle after returning from Aus until RB was arrested. My understanding was that RB returned to Aus late 1970/early 1971 under the name Fredy David on the Chusan, stayed with his future wife's family etc, then was arrested quite quickly on his return to Europe? I hadn't realised these relationships overlapped.

RB seems to deal in cash most of the time. Bank transfers give an audit trial. At some point he probably has to bank the cash but how & where. If he helped his children to buy properties or was buying them himself I’m guessing he wouldn’t have put down large cash deposits. You would hope NSW Police will go through his and his families bank accounts with a fine tooth-comb and involve European authorities to look at any overseas accounts including Renov Pubs. No surprise if there is someone else involved in moving his money or selling stolen artefacts from his victims.

I think all of his ‘wives’ have ‘overlapped’

I mean based on his love of name changes and stories and fraud… I don’t think ‘divorce’ documents would be high on his list..

Prob married to more than one at a time… and if the names are different and the country is different quite possible to have not been detected by the country where a marriage was taking place.

Then technically in his twisted mind he’s never married.
FDH didn’t marry IK WW did
FDH married DDH whom she met according to her as WW, who travelled at the time as FD…

I believe there is some Hungarian connection to this story including that of IK and her marriage to the mysterious Mr Reid. I wonder how many Reid’s were married in Hungary during the communist era? One?

Something else noteworthy is Ghislane said they never ‘consummated the relationship’. GGB said the appendage was blue. But we know he had several kids.

So my question is, at what point did he become unable to perform?

Was it before or after his love letters to MC where he praised their bedroom activities?

Or is the impotence part of the scam? Is it the arrangement he has with his wife? For example, ‘you can seduce these women in order to take their money, but if you sleep with them I’ll leave’?

Maybe he didn't find them in any way sexually attractive and his 'blue appendage' wasn't up to the job? They were targets of his scam after all, just work for him, not actual romances. Also, as you say, maybe that his wife would not have been happy about that.

I did think at the inquest humiliating him about this subject might have created a reaction and perhaps cause him to blurt out something incriminating or lose his temper.
