Very little is heard about his first 2 wives and AKA struggled at the inquest with the timeline of those marriages. Apologies if this has been mentioned before but are they both deceased now? Surely they would have family who have potentially useful information? I would like someone to come forward to prove his horse accident in the 60s is BS.

Spent some time last night thinking about this case… And I’m more confused than I was yesterday afternoon. I keep trying to figure out when everything came to a head.

And for a long time I thought she figured out she was conned in the UK. And returned home to try to save whatever money she could. But that doesn’t really make sense. Because why would she have filled out the customs’ card with “wife, homemaker, Luxembourg” if that were the case? She would have said single, n/a, and used a different address. Or something similar. But thinking about it, the only conclusion I can make is that she was still in the world he’d created.

And the withdrawals don’t make any sense to me. If she was worried that he had access to the account, why wouldn’t she tell the teller that she was concerned about something like that and close that account and open a new one? Drawing down the account piecemeal just doesn’t make sense. Particularly given that the bulk of the money was eventually transferred out.

And then the last piece that makes the first piece more complicated in my mind is that the AKA con seems to “run out” in a foreign country. So why did this one break that mold? And if it didn’t, what did change Marion’s thinking?

Please send help. My brain is spinning again.

I like your reasoning, and your points are excellent. Especially to how Marion identifies herself. So if you carry your logic to its conclusion -- "if the AKA con seems to "run out" in a foreign country. So why did this one break that mold?" -- an answer could be that Marion didn't play true to form. She returned unexpectedly and presented RB with what he'd dreamed of and more. My hunch has been she came back to Australia to surprise him, and maybe thought she'd give in to his demands regarding the money and all would be well. But it wasn't.

You know, I hadn't really thought of DdH as an enabler until I considered Ghislaine Maxwell, Jeffery Epstein and Allison Mack, Keith Raniere. Yep. She had to have known, and there's no telling how much she participated.

The hair dying thing - other than the fact it's just plain weird and this guy is creepy AF

If killing them is one of his MO's then finding a body with different colour hair than someone reported as a missing person could delay / confuse in identifying them.

but my theory is kind of floored if people have seen the person once they dyed their hair before they leave on a trip with RB

I think the fact he makes half of this up as he goes (refines his scams from what he learnt on the last one) makes it difficult to follow his thinking

I get the whole Coercive control narrative with DDH however when you allow your abuser to abuse your children or others for me you move from a victim to an abuser yourself.

What's different about DDH to all of his other wives and victims that he hasn't knocked her off or fleeced and left

I am struggling to have empathy for DDH

If i may guess, it’s possible he makes them colour their hair for the same reason he gives them a different name (as he tried translating ‘dubois’ (du bois can be translated poorly to the woods or the forest), changing Marions name…) —> So, if asked, people would say: that name? That description? Nope, didn’t see that lady. It’s easyer to hide them in plain sight.

I have been wondering about his first 2 wives too, and his son with JL. I am sure many sleuths have been doing plenty of digging around looking for these people. @mishy66 have you uncovered anything?

Updated - typo

I haven’t heard the podcast yet, but when put like this — possible fake marriage certificate and emigration to Australia— it sounds exactly like the scenarios RB perpetrated on women 20 years later. Chilling.

question: if IK married MJR then she must have been divorced or never married, if MJR exists. In which case, RB wasn’t practicing bigamy with her but with another previous wife
Totally Agree it sounds exactly like his MO

MJR does exist - it was clarified by J on MB FB page

Marion's story is spreading.
A Czech publication has now picked up the CNN article.

Here is their translated version.

Great that it's reaching more European countries. It is a shame this article didn't share all RB's aliases or any pics of him and Remakel was misspelt quite a few times. Nonetheless the more countries reporting the better.

@Lord Peter Flimsy

I feel so stupid. I finally twigged where your name was from :)

Though it wasn't until a google alert email turned up from a bookshop online.

It mentioned a bunch of Lord Peter Whimsey stories. :D

Is it possible that as well as the money, RB was trying to create a situation whereby he could bring MC into Australia to live permanently and all this has been about her? The idea popped into my head because there may have been other motivations as to why he was trying to create a 'Mrs Remakel' identity?

It is an offence under the Crimes Act to be married to two or more people at the same time.

This offence is known as ‘bigamy.’

@Estelle,

Thanks so much for posting this!

Though I knew that bigamy was a crime, there is so much information in that article that was really interesting to read.
I hadn't really looked into what the offence entailed as far as what happened if you commited the crime.
It was an eye opener for me.

I've been finding news articles where some other european countries have published articles that contain all his aliases, those that we know of, so far... :)

Oh and there was one article from Japan ( I think) and that listed all the names.

Yes I remember now.

A good friend of mine who has passed was a fan.
I think I just blocked it out of my mind :(

What date do you have for her arrival?

I have following that I got from timelines floating around but there are many inconsistencies:

1976 – IK arrives in Australia again
I'm sticking with IK arrived back into Australia 1974

That's great! Japan could unearth something. Getting it out in Bali would be good IMO.
