I thought he was... a bit of a meltdown as he has been backed into a corner regarding the inheritance that he can't remember if he told his wife about or not. FFS as if it is something that you would forget. As Mr. Casselden pointed out, his wife gave evidence that she did not know of any inheritance that AKA received. CAUGHT OUT YET AGAIN AKA.... so many lies and crying won't help you.

I couldn't remember why he seemed so upset so just went back and rewatched that part from yesterday. I'd totally missed the "my poor wife" comment.

I appreciate this has probably been long since much debated but is it possible she misremembered the name of the band, mixing them up for a similarly popular one, or transposed the years of two different bands she liked?

I once worked with a guy who was a computer programmer and analytical genius. He told me how usually if people aren't lying on purpose and they truly believe their account, it can be because they've transposed two elements. Something to do with how the memory works.

OK…so here’s something interesting. If you look at the Wikipedia entry for « Homebake » Homebake - Wikipedia
The Homebake festival was only held in Byron Bay in 1996 and then moved elsewhere in Australia. So it’s not just the band but the actual festival date relating to BB that is in question.

EDITED: to say…there was no Homebake Festival at all in 1997. 1996 Spiderbait in BB in 1996. A second Festival in 1996 in Sydney and then no other Homebake until 1998!

I'm LOL at the bit where AC reads the police report of RB saying he had received 50,000 'euro dollars' from cousins for a prostate operation. RB then argues that he cannot understand why Marie would have thought this as he had only mentioned the surgery in passing. However, AC is not referring to any statement of Marie but of RB's own words to the police.

IMO some avenues for investigation (with assumptions) here:
1: Assume Bank Manager did see MB in BB and she mentioned Bali but that the date was wrong and it was the year before = MB was talking about Bali in January 1996
2: Assume Bank Manager did see MB in 1997 and she was wrong about the festival ….Check out whether Silverchair played in BB any other time during August - October 1997.
3: Assume Bank Manager is providing a made up story and inserting herself into the events? Why?
4: Assume Bank Manager is providing a false story involving MB and Bali ahead of the Bali revelations….why and how and who provided the story?

OK this is just off the top of my head and IMOO and there are no doubt more permutations but it’s a start!

Sure could look that way, what on earth possible motivation could a person have to do so?

And if so, why would they agree to make such a high risk statement and not even do a bit of fact checking for themselves first?

I'm currently 4 hours plus into Day 15 and suddenly Mr AKA has lost his stutter during an interrogation regarding the International Drivers Licence in the name of FNR... huh, it must be a miracle!

RB projects his own behaviour onto others. I think they should engage a Psychiatrist or Psychologist to examine RB and give a report as that would help them to understand his behaviours and perhaps help in a prosecution or even send him to a mental hospital!

100% agree - or any type of forensic linguist analyst could point out where he repeats the same style of responding

I could do it myself maybe as a total amateur but it's slightly crazymaking... :/

I think there may have been some discussion on WS around the time about it being a knee-jerk deflection away from herself having any involvement?

I agree and I wonder if his legal representation should have pushed for that sooner?
I've got a couple of specific things in mind that could mean a trained specialist would be better served to question him. JMO.
