AKA flew back to Australia on the 31st of July 1997. I’m not sure if that’s the day he left Europe or arrived back in Australia.

MB phoned SL on the 1st of August 1997 - her passport has her arriving in Brisbane on the 2nd of August.

If MB did indeed take that flight it seems she likely called SL from either Amsterdam or during her Hong Kong transit. Meaning she lied to SL in regards to her true location.

1) MB is alive and well after AKA’s return to Australia.

2) If MB didn’t take that flight - we have a third party using MB’s identity.

3) If MB didn’t take that flight do we have a fourth party in the UK contracted to do a nasty deed?

Or - MB lied to SL - did return to Brisbane - what was MB doing between the 2nd of August and her optometrist appointment on the 13th of August in Grafton? Was she sick? Suffering blurred vision? Why was the first bank withdrawal so many days after her return? First withdrawal on the 15th of August, 13 days after her return? Nearly 2 weeks. Nymboida - where AKA claimed to JO he had acreage is only 40klms from Grafton. Is there more to this claim?

Instinct - AKA’s new vehicle purchase was on the 11th of August. I think somewhere between the 2nd of August and the 15th of August is the critical dates of MB’s timeline. Speculation only.
Thanks! Good reasoning.

Intriguing.
Very! A 20000 mile round trip for what? It’s got to be something that benefits him big time. He probably told DdeH he was just nipping out to buy a loaf!

Having listened again to the earlier inquest Sally’s lawyer states AKA was out of Australia from the 27/7/94 to 26/9/94, however during this line of questioning he also states that AKA changed his name by Deed Poll from RLW to FDdeH on the 23/9/94 (although he left the passport under the RLW name). Has he quoted the wrong dates and if not how did he change his name whilst outside Australia?

The trip from 30/3/94 to 3/4/94 was according to AKA the one he ‘got bashed’ at Amsterdam Airport and returned home courtesy of that kindly chap at Japan Airlines. Make of that what you will.

Just to add another trip he made from 23/9/87 to 3/11/87 so not long after returning from Burwash. This was the trip where he went via NZ and probably USA. He said it was probably because it was cheaper. I suspect there was a lot more to it than that.

One last post on his trips abroad but he often stated on his outgoing passenger cards that he would be in Europe a lot longer than he actually was. For example for his trip from 12/5/93 to 9/6/93 he said he would be away 4 months and 6/10/92 to 3/11/92 he said 5 months. Why was he doing this?

I’m not sure if its accuracy. Hopefully you find this useful.

Really pulling at straws here, SO but maybe it has something to do with the amount of cash he had on him. You could talk away having more on you if you were supposed to be away for 1/4 year or more

No idea.
Have to wait for Spotlight for how the name links to the case, if indeed it does.

We are sleuths, thats what we do, dig for information. Just like TLV and MB FB page - some things not connected, some things are.

Its like the other sleuths a few pages back who found some other links to the name....digging up the dirt with the only piece of info we all have atm

Of course - I just thought I was missing something from the tone of your post. You’re doing great work.

Maybe not these two examples, but the very short trips to Europe may have been a red flag to Border Control on departure from Australia..for checking him out on return. A planned longer trip would perhaps attract less interest?

Each time he is overseas in 1992 and 1994 – he used the Richard Lloyd Westbury passport. Travelling on a false passport.
Westbury name was illegal because he had just changed his name again prior to departure, so officially he wasn’t Westbury anymore even though his passport was in that name - He changed his name officially to FdeH in 1992.

A lot going on in 1994!
Its the same year the FR advert was placed (December )
Also the same year Vernon sets up Ballina Coin Investments and DeHedervary Family Trust
Same year Marion takes a position at TSS and purchases her new home. ( She actually had 2 properties at this time)

He had made 12 (from what has been said on MB FB page) Deed Poll name changes during his time.

He makes a deed poll name change from FdeH to WOUTERS Willy / Willy Wouters in 1989 too.
Just before he sets off on his 1991 launch under Richard Lloyd WEST

That article has SO many errors in it.
This is really disappointing for anyone who has not heard of the case before. If the Journos are going to cover the case at least get the facts right!

It reeks of money laundering activities, doesn’t it? In the context of conning victims into giving him huge amounts of cash.

Do you have an accurate timeline you’re able to post? I’d be very keen to read through it.

hmmmmmm, did they -TLV - all not ASSUME that FR in Lux WAS indeed the FR who placed the ad in the paper......
Absolutely definitely agree with you! The approach in Luxembourg smacked of paparazzi-style journalism and the assumption "we found him". The video makes me feel embarrassment for the unsuspecting SL who was desperate for answers but was inadvertently caught up in the whirlwind. I think she learnt a lesson at that moment.

The first thing that comes to my mind is that he needed to make a quick escape (after obtaining an “inheritance”)

I wonder if there is a significance to his lightning speed appearances at funerals.. and his habit of encouraging travel companions to leave luggage in train stations and airports (with many of their belongings still in there) and usually not recovered.

Good points. For sure.
