IMHO MC & DdeH both knew of each other in Luxembourg back in the 80s.

I could see MC being curious about DdeH—“what’s the wife like?” kind of thing. Rivalry, maybe.

Hey, all you lovely people. . . New episode up on CRIME ANALYST with Laura Richards, Joanie, and Sally to analyze the Coroner's findings. Announcement posted on the Marion Barter Instagram account run by Sally. FWIW

From another post on Instagram Sally L shares an intriguing odd coincidence. She recently discovered that the serving platter Marion had given her for an engagement gift is from NIKKO Fine China, Japan. Eerily similar to the name Hotel Nikko Narita. A sign? A clue? When you're slogging through what Sally does, signs can mean the world.

Yes I think in Ric Blum/Willie Wouters case all roads do lead to Rome. You have a woman who appreciates quality dishware and then you have a man who specialises in ripping off women who collect fine things. They were in a romantic relationship at the time of her disappearance and death (due to the inquest findings I think I can say that now). He may have worked as a buyer for someone who funnelled antiques in and out of Japan and Marion had tea chests of valuables disappear from her or her family’s possession. So in my view the Nikko connection is a coincidence but not a wild one. Maybe what I’d call a tendency.

I don’t know what the rules are in Japan governing data protection and for retaining records but it would be interesting to know whether the Hotel Nikko Narita kept archived records for guests staying there?

I haven’t listened in full to the latest CA podcast but I’m assuming Sally still needs Marion’s death certificate to check whether or not a bigamist marriage did take place in Japan back in 1997?

Whilst I am still searching for personal ads on Trove that may be attributed to AKA, the one we all know about in Le Courrier Australien (10 Dec 1994) now has an interesting tag!! The tag states "MF Remakel - Stop lying Joni. Joni tell the truth. Shame on TVL for dragging an innocent man a victim himself through the mud. the mud. Your podcast sucks." This was probably added prior to the Coroner’s Findings, but who would have been invested enough to have written such a tirade?

Why do you think it was added BEFORE the findings??

There was another post in their stories showing a person named Fredrick Clark.

All the weirdos have come out of the woodwork it seems.

It is my understanding that the coming trip to Japan is to research as many documents as possible with death certificate in hand. Two, part of the issue has been the language barrier and lack of documents online. So the idea is to speak to people in person with an interpreter.
