A 41-year-old man who stabbed and decapitated his war veteran step-grandfather with a bayonet suffered severe psychotic delusions at the time of the attack, a NSW court has found.

Matthew James Woodroffe-Hill, of Tenterfield, was today found not guilty by reason of mental illness of the murder of 82-year-old Mark Hutchison, whose headless body was discovered in the back yard of his Armidale home last year.
