'How to get away with murder': Police reveal Natasha Darcy's internet searches in the days before she 'poisoned and killed her partner'
By Kylie Stevens For Daily Mail Australia
16:01 AEDT 27 Jan 2018, updated 16:13 AEDT 27 Jan 2018

‘A woman charged with murdering her partner allegedly made multiple internet searches on concealing crime just days before his death.

Police allege Natasha Beth Darcy searched 'murder by injection', 'the science of getting away with murder', '99 undetectable poisons' as well as various methods of 'suicide' in the days before the death of her partner, Walcha farmer Mathew Dunbar.’

‘In Tamworth Local Court this week, solicitor for the Director of Public Prosecutions Cameron Reynolds said investigators had served a 'voluminous brief'.

As part of their case, police allege that in the nine days prior to Mr Dunbar's death, Ms Darcy searched various terms relating to murder as well as methods of suicide.

Police also alleged that many of these searches related to methods of causing death that are undetectable, and were allegedly deleted from her phone, but were recovered by police.

'It's in the order of 7,000 pages,' he said, asking for further time to obtain more specialist material,' the Northern Leader reported.’

Magistrate Julie Soars refused bail and granted the application for an adjournment ordering the case back to court in March.’

‘The court was told that police will allege Darcy placed drugs and animal sedatives into his food and drink to sedate him before allegedly placing a plastic bag over his head and turning a tank of helium on, attached to the bag via a hose.’

‘Mr Dunbar had at least five prescribed drugs in his system, according to toxicology reports, police claim, and that Ms Darcy's DNA, as well as that of Mr Dunbar's was allegedly found on the bag around his neck.’

Interesting MSM article:

’They are calculating’: What makes women kill their partners
news.com.au
Andrew Koubaridis
JANUARY 31, 2018 8:12am

‘WOMEN are at their most deadly when they are under financial strain — and even females who have no criminal history can be driven to murder, new research shows.

An analysis of almost 150 Australian murders by Queensland University of Technology researcher Dr Belinda Parker has shown women are more likely to kill when they are motivated by gain.’

from your link:

“Gain is one of seven motives that characterise the solved homicides I analysed. The others were jealousy, revenge, conviction/hate, concealment, love, and thrill,”

I vote gain and possibly thrill, for starters. How many apply here? Any write-in votes?

One not on the list; contempt.

Walcha widow’s murder case now spans 16 volumes, court told

Mr Johnson said he had been instructed to ask for an eight week adjournment for the new defence to examine the evidence “so the brief can be properly considered”.

He said it was a “very, very complex brief”.

“At this point in time they have not had an opportunity to consider the brief,” he said.

Magistrate Julie Soars declined the long adjournment, saying it was too long, and was “blowing out in terms of the time”.

“I’ll give it six weeks … it’s in Ms Darcy’s interest to get this matter to the Supreme Court,” she said, ordering the case back to court in September.

Dýa think there will be some house fires in Woollongong if she's released or some deaths of rich single men?
Maybe helium sales will skyrocket in Wollongong.

Some media should stop referring to Mathew as her husband. I have family living in that area so hear some local input.
Nutribullet allegedly used in sheep farmer husband's murder

The accused Natasha has also dropped the name Crossman from her hyphenated former surname.
Murder-accused refused bail, charged with killing Walcha farmer

Sorry Mathew, from all accounts you seemed like an affable man who unfortunately met with an unsavory, scheming person. IMO and MOO
This is pretty local to me. I didn't know Mat, but plenty of my friends did.

I find so much of this hard to get my head around. According the article you linked, and lots of others, the accused was previously charged with the attempted murder of her former husband, with whom she has three children. Yet she still retained custody of the children!!! Why wouldn't you fight that? Where were the kids on the night she set the house on fire? Were they in the house, as well?

Woman sentenced over Walcha house fire

Apparently the kids are living with their dad now, and have not visited mum at all. I saw the former husband in the street in Walcha at the end of last year- I only know him from his media pics, but I was so tempted to walk up to him and just ask- "WTF?"

Murder-accused Natasha Darcy makes plea offer in Walcha grazier case

A PLEA deal is on the table for the woman charged with the murder of her de facto partner Mathew Dunbar.

Natasha Darcy, 42, allegedly staged the suicide of the grazier by putting a plastic bag over his head and gassing him with helium after she fed him a cocktail of sedatives she blended in a Nutribullet.

The Walcha woman appeared via video link in Tamworth Local Court on Wednesday, charged with the murder police allege took place on August 2, 2017.

"I have a letter from her legal representative, this matter was initially listed for committal hearing today but an application has now been made for an adjournment," DPP solicitor Cat McKay said.

"A plea offer has been made and prosecution needs time to consider that offer."

That plea deal is being considered by the Department of Public Prosecutions, the court heard.

Should be no plea deal............premeditated murder it is

I wonder if her lawyer’s trying on aiding and abetting a suicide instead?
