In the letter dated 9 February 2021 from William James (p22) (Gleeson Affidavit 25/6/2021) – the G’s states…that “The $1 M contribution was not a gift to Melissa, nor was it a loan, nor was it a paymentto Ms Caddick for her to do what she considered appropriate with the funds….”

Interesting that the G’s wording implies that they viewed the $1m as a contribution! (definition of contribution....a gift or payment to a common fund or collection.

Whereas the Investors view is that they invested their funds into their SMSF or Investment Funds – it was never deemed to be a contribution to MC or Maliver.

The Grimley’s are claiming $90k as per the letter dated 8 June 2021 from Baker McKenzie (Gleeson Affidavit 25/6/2021) it states that:

Point 2e:since 22 February 2017 have paid for repairs; significant renovations to the kitchen, bathrooms and balcony; utilities and strata fees for the Edgecliffe property totalling almost $90,000.

As stated in the email from MC to her parents dated 22 November 2016 (p33 of the Gleeson Affidavit 25/6/2021)

“all quarterly strata fees can be claimed by Mrs Melissa Caddick as the title will be 100% in the name of Mrs Melissa Caddick. I have provided $50k for all work to be done including appliances, again I can claim all of this as the title will be 100% in the name of Mrs Melissa Caddick.”

“So after discussion with John it makes sense for me to pay the strata fees and all the improvements at the beginning at no out of pocket to you and mum.”

So the question is why are the Grimley’s claiming $90k for renovations and Strata Fees when MC was responsible for the Strata Fees and provided $50k for the renovations?

The Grimley’s have resided in Edgecliffe since 17 March 2017 but are claiming the following (as noted in the letter dated 21 December 2020 from William James (Gleeson Affidavit 25/6/2021)

- Council Rates - Woollahra Municipal Council – the G’s payed them from 31 August 2018 – so from December 2016 to 31 August 2018 the Council Rates were paid by MC (ie Investor funds)
- Sydney Water – the G’s paid them from 24 April 2017 – so from December 2016 to 24 April 2017 Sydney Water were paid by MC (ie Investor funds)
- Energy Australia gas – the G’s paid them from 31 January 2018 lo 14 July 2020 - so from December 2016 to 31 January 2018 the Energy Australia gas charges were paid by MC (ieInvestor funds)

How can the Grimleys claim for Strata Fees when in the Budget (showing what MC paid for) that was provided in AG’s Affidavit in December 2020 the following were listed:

Strata Fees $4708

IMO... there appears to be some attempt to double dip!

Interesting read Trooper, how in the hell can she be allowed to get away with this? I've heard tge phrase ambulance chaser and this gives a whole new meaning to a "help yourself approach".

shocking failure by multiple regulators. Much more to come with this story

Yes, it seems like a long shot to me. Because you pay utilities and strata fees at a property you reside in, doesn't mean you are a creditor. While technically you usually wouldn't be responsible for the strata fees, if you pay them there is nothing (that I know of) that says you are to be reimbursed. You can let the owner go delinquent with the strata fees ... their debt.

Same with the improvements/remodelling. Your choice to do them. Knowing full well that you don't own the property.

If you move into a rental property and repaint all the rooms (your choice, with permission) it doesn't make you a creditor. It makes you a tenant who wanted to do some things for your own enjoyment.

Seems to me they are throwing as much as they can at the wall, and seeing if anything sticks.

...and all the Regulators are acting like this the first time this has ever happened.

Its hard to imagine that she did not plan for some sort of sudden exposure. I find that the most difficult of all scenario's to absorb. She didn't pay off her own mortgage on Dover Heights, she didn't pay off the mortgage on mum and dads place in Edgecliff.. she leased cars for Antony,, she was borrowing , trying to borrow large bucketfuls of money in the last months.

From somewhere, I recall she had not caught up on the sons schoolfees..... yet all this money flowed thru her little Chanel-manicured hands...
Getting warmer..

Some new figures released in a new article:

Ms Caddick's income also included $71,393 in child support, $35,195.50 from luxury good reseller Hock Your Frocks and regular dividends from a $4.8 million share portfolio in her name.

ASIC seized a significant jewellery collection, which had a cost value of $2.5 million.

Melissa Caddick allegedly duped client and told her she was wealthy within her own right | Daily Mail Online
That’s a decent amount of child support, I wonder if that’s still being paid and if so to whom?

Also odd that MC was "hocking" her luxury goods???? That is fair amount of money for second hand luxury items ..... Why keep buying them??? Or did she only wear something once??? Extravagant .. but so was her entire life it appears??

The entire scenario is tragic for her only child....IMO
In hindsight, it is probably a shame that MC won the child custody dispute .....

Probably only wearing them once, I can imagine a mindset of wanting to be seen in new each time….

so much we don’t know about this case, like what happened to her?

She suicided? No one has actually said if they believe that or the evidence is definitely pointing to that.

She was murdered?

She accidentally died whilst hiding?

Crazily she is somewhere, without a foot!

There is a lot of money missing. Selling her clothes, the properties are mortgaged, she took some trips and bought expensive goods but it’s possible there is money hidden or paid to other parties privy in this

All excellent questions Soph.......

I have done a full circle on this.... I immediately thought suicide after the raid .... then I wanted to believe that she had a "plan" and was on the run..... then was she murdered??

The other big question that is like an elephant in the room is HOW and WHEN did she leave the house without a soul seeing her and seemingly no technological footprint in 2020????

Absolutely agree.... there has to be money and /or property somewhere..... or yes possibly a third party .....
There is so much still to be uncovered....

Very odd on the technical footprint issue!!!

I constantly hope that the son is living a life removed from all this crapola, and that the child support needs not to be paid because he is being cared for by a hopefully-healthy paternal family.

Not much has come of the ‘investigation’
I guess the remaining interested parties will be thrashing it out in court for now. Is AK staking a claim? How will he support her son?

Also odd that they keep saying, in court, that MC disappeared a couple of hours after the raid, I don't think they are buying the 0500hrs story.... IMO, and I hope more comes to light on this matter...

In the latest affidavits, they have 6 officers working the case trying to put together a brief for the Coroner, so hopefully they are investigating further.....

Police were supposed to brief the Coroner on 17th June but they weren't ready ....... could be weeks or months....

(a) the due date for the brief to the coroner is due 17 June 2021; (b) it is unlikely the brief will be submitted by the specified date; (c) it is too early to say whether the Coroner will direct a coronial inquest; and ( d) the post-mortem has been completed however the pathology reports are not available yet and it is unclear at this stage if the pathologist can determine the condition of the remains. A copy of this email (MAL.0003.0023.0001) is at annexed to this affidavit and mark
Affidavit-of-Isabella-Lucy-Allen-affirmed-17-May-2021.pdf (fedcourt.gov.au)

And see Page 11 Letter from Police same link

Yeah ifs cte~nltely been a busy time for everyone. I have six staff preparing the brief at the moment. Our due date was 17 June but I don't anticipate lt being done by this time Could take a few extra weeks or months, It's a bit hard to say at this stage. We're getting statements off all the Investors/associates/family members etc and all Police Involved in the response. So there IJ quit ~ bit to compile. It Is too eat1v 10 s;ay Whtther the Coroner will direct an Inquest. They may be satisfied based on the full brief of evidence we prOllide. But I won't know until the Coroner has reviewed 1he brief. 10 No I don't have any p1thology reporli yet The post mortem has been completed. It'll probably take a few more weeks to set this Info. It may or may not be something the pathologist can determine depending on the condition of the remains. Thanks. Michael. Its gone very quiet on the AK scene .... I guess it depends on the Will and also who her Life Insurance is bequeathed to ...?

Not sure how to post this, but I saw something interesting on A Current Affair last night (31/5/21). No inferences are made by me, I'll let the videos do the taking.

It featured Dominque Grubisa. A Current Affair reported posivitly on DG Institute back in 2009, but how things have changed, allegedly, in my own opinion.

Dominique Grubisa: Making a fortune from others’ misfortune

What do you think?
I know a great deal about this. This is a drop in the ocean of the shocking conduct that will be outed. Thousands of people affected. Her parents were both lawyers struck off for fraud. Her father was jailed. Apple doesn’t fall far from the tree. The extent of deception is quite unbelievable
