I think there was something said about rent payments earlier. The parents were paying Melissa rent anyway? and she refunded the money to her parents as living expenses?
The whole arrangement with the parents looks like an arrangement that benefits everyone.
Melissa claims tax deductions on the expenses and negative gearing on the unit and
the parents probably received full centrelink benefits including rent assistance. Im curious as to whether they are dual citizens with pensions from other country also?

It does look like it might be a case of the parents obtaining a benefit by deception, which is the definition of fraud. However, in the first place I don't know anything about their pension situation, and in the second place I don't know to what extent they were coerced.

Not really surprised, they only cared about outward appearances.

So the pool is non-complient, and I’d guess the walls need painting and there are leaks from the rooftop deck?

Yes, noted but I wonder what the outcome was?

I think this article published today is the outcome of the Directions Hearing. Just getting ready for the inquest that is scheduled for September 12 to 26.

The witness list will include her husband, DJ and former part-time prawn farmer Anthony Koletti, and her parents Ted and Barbara Grimley.

Mr Downing also told the court that he was seeking evidence from psychologists and experts on ocean currents.

“We are in the process of seeking expert evidence going to any mental health conditions that Ms Caddick may have had,” Mr Downing said.

A further directions hearing will be held later this month before the inquest begins.

Missing con woman Melissa Caddick’s Dover Heights mansion renovations ahead of sale

(extract)

Tradies have descended on con woman Melissa Caddick’s multimillion-dollar Dover Heights home before it goes on the market in about a month, The Daily Telegraph can reveal.

The scenes of rewiring and fixing the non-compliant swimming pool at the Wallangra Road address are a world away from the diamonds and designer gear lifestyle the fake financial adviser enjoyed thanks to the millions she stole from devastated investors.

In one of the suburb’s most sought-after streets, it has been valued at around $15 million.

“While there has been a slight delay because of the recent inclement weather, we anticipate that it will be brought to market in late September 2022,” Mr Gleeson said this week.

The home is in [MC's] name and that of her brother Adam Grimley — who owns one per cent — while her husband, hairdresser and DJ Anthony Koletti, moved out recently. Mr Grimley has said he is willing to sign over his share when it goes on the market.

Next week.

There seems to be a new file on the Fed Court website, called "Order", but I can't open it.

It opened up for me. It is called a Consent Order and it seems to be an order that basically says that Gleeson and Soire of Jones Partners (liquidators/receivers) are to be paid out of the money retrieved from Melissa/Maliver's accounts and property.

It lists AK as a 3rd defendant after Melissa and Maliver.

It lists Gleeson and Soire, and Melissa's parents, as interested parties.

During an opening address, Counsel Assisting the coroner Jason Downing said while DNA analysis confirmed the foot belonged to Ms Caddick, it was not possible to determine how it became separated.

He said the date and place of Ms Caddick's suspected death are the subject of "significant uncertainty" and flagged the possibility of the inquest resulting in an open finding.

Mr Downing foreshadowed evidence from friends who observed Ms Caddick to be under significant financial pressure in 2020.

The court heard that, during a walk to cliffs, she once remarked: "If I'm going to end it, it's going to be here".

She had also previously made a separate reference to being found at "the gap" if it "all gets too much".

MC's comments about "ending it all" at the clifftops seem a very strong pointer, IMO.

Deputy State Coroner Elizabeth Ryan earlier acknowledged the presence in court of Mr Koletti and her parents, Ted and Barbara Grimley.

"This inquest, as we all know, is taking place against a particular background, which is that many people have been financially harmed, allegedly, because of Melissa Caddick's activities," she said.

"Having said that I know she is also a daughter and a wife and a sister and a mother and I am sure that her disappearance from your lives has brought shock and bewilderment and grief which you've been living with for the past two years."

Magistrate Ryan said an inquest was a painful experience for a family.

"However, my hope is that this inquiry will bring some answer to the many questions that I know you have about what has happened to Melissa Caddick."

The Advertiser (paywalled) has a few more details ..... will paraphrase.

When Melissa's first marriage was breaking down (around 2012), Melissa told her brother that if it all got too much for her, he would find her at The Gap.

Melissa had previously been a missing person (back in 2012) when her affair with AK was exposed.

She told another friend (again, around 2012) a 4 letter code to give to Melissa's brother, should Melissa go missing.

Then, in 2020 (as Tootsie has posted above), Melissa told a friend that if she was going to end it, it would be around the cliffs of Dover Heights. Sometimes, Melissa also told that same friend that 'she couldn't do it any more'.
