But in more recent times, immigration around the world do not chop passports all over the place any more. So they don't get replaced with new ones so often. I wonder..
Yep, sort of backs up the stories of her flying all over the globe many times a year for a number of years.

Blimey. Now I don't know what to think. I have believed almost since the beginning that she jumped from the cliffs, and in due course her foot made it to a southern beach. But now - even a couple of small bits of new evidence have got me so confused. But I still think she is no longer alive.

haha! imagining a pig in trainers! poor piggy, surely they wouldnt throw it off the cliff alive? seems ridiculous though because pigs feet are nothing like humans and the shoes would slip off without an ankle and toes?
I actually sat and thought about that detail for a moment. Like, were they special "pig runners"? Or were they regular shoes? How did they keep the shoe on the pig, because I can't see a people shoe fitting a pig...

Police review of Melissa Caddick’s phone showed ‘potential pin data point’ at airport

A manual review of Melissa Caddick’s mobile phone showed a “potential pin data point” on her Uber account at Sydney Airport at 12.45am on Friday 13 November, 2020, the inquest into her disappearance and presumed death has heard.
What does that mean? Does it mean her phone was at the airport? Does it mean someone was using her phone to look for Uber vehicles? Where was AK at that time--perhaps he was looking for Melissa near the airport, or travelling past the airport between home and his family. Is 'potential pin data point' a thing or is it pin data point, and 'potential' just means police aren't sure?

Watching the video of the raid brought home the jewellery she had purchased. Had a strong sense of compulsive purchasing. I don’t have a sense of how much jewellery people of means have but that seemed really extravagant to me.
MOO

I'm thinking the jewellery had a purpose apart from just owning it.

It was part of her scam, her "I'm rich and I can make you rich too" scheme.

Collecting though is insidiously addictive, especially to a systematizing personality type. What begins as functional, and may continue to be rationalized as functional, becomes a need for just this one last thing to complete the collection. But it's like buying one last packet of cigarettes. Always one more.

Why weren’t these forensic analyses done BEFORE this inquest?

If the shoe was regurgitated then surely shark bile would be impregnated into the shoe.
C’mon, are we seeing a skit of Comedy Capers Here?

The report said the shoe, with the bones inside, had been in the water for between two and seven days.

….analysis of the bones would determine whether Caddick was alive or dead when it was removed from her body.

“It is possible from an analysis of the foot to determine if there was active blood flow at the time that that foot is articulated, for example,” she said.

“There are analyses that can be done to help determine whether a person was alive or dead when an element was lost.”

Considering the shoe was found in February, four months after she disappeared, it’s speculated that Caddick’s body may have been involved in a shark attack before her foot was regurgitated.

Receivers of Melissa Caddick’s estate have submitted a bill to the Federal Court for nearly $500,000

From this paywalled article …

I notice this article says that the civil case 'has been listed for October 10 in the Federal Court'.

Presumably, this is the case that will result in the actual division of money for the creditors (and perhaps Melissa's parents).

Theory Melissa Caddick's mother has about her daughter's death as the missing fraudster's luxurious mansion goes on the market - but anyone who wants to have a look will be charged a $10,000 fee

"Since obtaining vacant possession in late May 2022 and receiving orders enabling us to proceed with a sale, we have undertaken certain maintenance and minor improvements to amplify the property's luxurious appeal," said Bruce Gleeson from Jones Partners, the receivers of Melissa Caddick and Liquidators of Maliver Pty Ltd.
"The home is positioned in an elevated part of one of Dover Heights' most sought-after streets and we are extremely pleased to be able to offer this prestigious property for sale during spring.
"The sale campaign will be conducted via an Expressions of Interest which is scheduled to close on 31 October 2022 and thereafter a private auction (if required)."

It's been staged for sale.

Potential buyers will be charged a refundable $10,000 fee to inspect Caddick's property at Dover Heights, in Sydney's eastern suburbs, as receivers finally put the home on the market with prestige real estate agent Sotheby's on Monday.

The fee will be used to deter anyone but legitimate buyers from accessing the property at the centre of one of Australia's biggest mysteries - as agents release a flashy video showing off the property.

I've always thought that the front of the place is not that impressive.
