I wonder if someone was able to wait and plan or if it was off the cuff.
I have been wondering this as well ….especially with the cut thru path .. I hope Police checked that area for any evidence….

Thanks…. have been wondering about this… Would it be possible to push a bin thru this hedge and path????? In order to place a Clayton Lane Bin on to Maryvale Street or vice versa ??
Is this between the blocks of 52 and 56?

Was the early starts to do bottles and recycling every day? Or only on certain days like a routine? Or randomly/sporadically?
Did you notice if she left/arrived the same way each time?

When our recycling day rolls around - there is a lady that comes around early - due to that bin always seemingly collected before general waste bin - to check for recyclables and collects any she finds.

I don't see her on other days - but there is less units where I am and possibly people keep their bins behind fences prior to bin collection.

But where LT lived seems to be lots of units and possibly the recycling bin is easier to access at various times of the day/week.

Maybe she knew which complexes in walking distance from her unit had regularly items which could be redeemed - possibly after a weekend of social activities. MOO

I have been wondering the same - especially since her units put their bins on Clayton Lane but the police activity seemed to be more in Maryvale Street as if one of their bins where involved.

But it might just be easier to access from that street and just a coincidence that the footage is more from that street? MOO

I believe it is.
When I look at street view, there is only a hedge between 52 & 56. On the other side of 52 there is a fence encompassing the whole side and rear of the property.

Slouth had pointed out earlier that bin number 58 was with the bins from 52... I guess that access would make it easy for the bin to be moved there?

No, it has a bit you must step over (from memory). I'll go have a look today. I avoided going through because LT didn't like people going through - but as I asked her, she let me, lol

This is very interesting ….Thankyou.

Do you know when the Police seized the bins? Prior to Easter Weekend, or during etc?
Were bins seized from Maryvale and Clayton Lane or just the one area?

And maybe when new ones were provided? Just thinking if the bins were replaced at Clayton Lane the delivery person may have placed them all on the left side together ?? ( General waste and recycling)

Thanks so much for posting!
I wondered that too - if police merely took the existing bins and council replaced the bins with the rest and not in the original place. Honestly the people in LT's complex appear a very tame lot. One is in a wheelchair, one is elderly and the other is the smoker, oh, and one is a weird dude who walked around in his own world barefoot (I think he moved out as I haven't seen him lately).

Yes, those yellow lidded bins were not usually there! and the no 58 is off....as LT's property is no 52. I didn't go down there with all the police around. lol, we had door-to-door delivery of police then.

Yes.
I don't actually know what is going on with the bins in that photo. (Keeping in mind that photo is from a couple of weeks after Lesley disappeared).

One side of the lane has general waste bins, and that recycling bin.
The other side of the lane has general waste bins, and a green bin.
Someone has their recycling/green bin days mixed up.

Just out of curiosity, nothing else, why would a person want to cut through the hedge between 52 & 56?
Is it a shortcut to somewhere? Just wondering because it is a dead end lane.

I sent a DM to mad mcgoo moderator with all my details again. Can call/msg anytime.

The bins were seized early on. Probably a few days after the search at mt coot-tha. All I noticed was, 'wow, someone moved those bins to the other side really quick. Lesley's only been gone several days/less than a week'.

I'm not sure about her bottle/can routine. I'd just see her out and about either going into or coming out of a neighbour's bin area with a bag (and even then she could've been heading to the shops too). Edit: and i thought this was problematic because not everyone likes random people (unless she had permission) going onto their property to collect bottles. But as I read through media, sometimes people would leave stuff out. I personally didn't as my child collect ours and grandma's for pocket money :)

She would always arrive at her bin area via the same way - to the right of the back of the building (pic of garages). There is a gravel path, very noisy when you walk on it. To the left of the garage pics are the general black wheelie bins and if you see the bright green hedge, the 'secret' path is there to the driveway/garage area of complex on the left (ie no. 56 Maryvale St).

if you come along sherwood rd, cut through no. 107, then cut through LT's secret hedge you get to Maryvale St (or vice versa)

edit - or can go up clayton lane to woodstock st too. Sorry for poor punctuation. I want to answer Qs before heading out.

I told police about this path - and it is apparent once you are at the property behind the bins. I'll take a photo later on today hopefully.

Did the police seize all the bins? Or just specific bins? TIA

It's very clear from this angle there's a shortcut through the gap in the hedge (where arrow is). But from Maryvale St or even Clayton Lane (as it's a cul de sac) it's not clear unless you either live in no. 56 or 52 Maryvale St. As you can see there's a step that prevents a wheelie bin crossing into the neighbouring property of 56 Maryvale St

Thankyou for the image!

Curious to know what word on the street is??

Are people fearful?? Especially the elderly residents??

The two squares are where the complex's recycle bins (yellow lid) would stand during the fortnight between collections. The two circles are where LT would move the bins to stand for collection. I last saw her on Monday 27 March at 10-11am moving them here to the front position (as I already told police). You can see the patch of earth where the bins have been habitually pushed. As I viewed this from a bit of a distance, I can't recall if the whitish areas or the darkish areas of concrete is the position where the bins rested before collection early Tue morning.
