Or maybe Ms Trotter had sold or given away the bike, prior to leaving for her new life in a retirement home.

I'm sure she would have been going through her belongings deciding what to keep and what to get rid of.
Possibly, but early media were showing what looks like a recent photo of her riding her bike …

I would assume it was her family that pointed out the bike was missing …

I think she could still go riding despite moving to a retirement village as that is very different to a nursing home .. imo

Quite possible, as Ms Trotter had lived there for 43 years… since the units were first built….

The advertisement described the apartment as “well cared for” and for sale for the first time since the six-unit complex was built 43 years

I imagine that one could feel an air of superiority and authority in the unit complex, being there since it was built. Especially being a teacher and being used to telling children what to do, her approach to adults may have been condescending or patronising.

I hope they have contacted more previous tenants to see if this really was consistent over the years or more of a recent development becoming intensely fixated on others refuse habits.

LE hope to reveal why she died.
But they're not saying they think they know how she died.

I wouldn't be surprised if they have someone in mind and perhaps have spoken to them.

BBM

Or they have someone in mind, (whose name keeps coming up repeatedly) who annoyingly for them, has gone away for the Easter break….. possibly even an unplanned trip precipitated by the focus of the investigation returning to her home, rather than the bush???
imo

Not sure if it really happens or not but they may have found her but said they haven’t to see if the person who transported her there returns to check.
Is that just a movies thing?

Maybe the person has gone on the run and has no intention of getting caught

Apparently it is a “thing” ….. as disturbing as it sounds… I was recently reading a research paper on child murders (related to another case on here,) and it does happen… with children, so I suspect it could also be possible with adults…

All IMO

Edit to add…. If her body has gone to the dump, the perpetrator may not know where she is ??

I think it's a possibility.
Pressure building up, the Police seem to know. or they're bluffing.

Thinks they're bluffing. Thinks of a better spot so goes to the body.

Meanwhile LE is watching all their moves.

Yes… would be interesting to know if anyone in the street /lane has suddenly broken a lease since the 28th March???

We’ve just had a trial here (NZ) where someone was charged with murder without a body being found, turns out the media were helping the police by publishing what they were asked, meanwhile the police were watching and listening to the suspects reaction.
Could be a very similar scenario here.

A bit like the Russell Hill and Carol Clay murders where the now charged man's house and car were being bugged for months.
Similar with the media publishing stories aimed at an audience of one.

Yes exactly the same, and also followed the suspect here, to see if he went back to where they thought he had buried the victim.

I think this is possible too.

Killers do sometimes return to the body site as we know, to make sure the victim is still hidden and it’s undisturbed.

At the moment the information released reminds me of old fashioned news articles, “police say they have a clue”!

I do think if someone snapped over the recycling, it was probably spur of the moment. So the scene and follow up would have been disorganised and hopefully easier to solve.

Looking on Street View, the unit block next door to Mrs Trotter's unit block do have large dumpster bins in their back yard, one for general household rubbish, and another for recycling.

Early reports mention that Ms Trotters bike was missing …..which has strangely / interestingly been missing from the latest news reports ..

Ms Trotter’s aqua blue Speedwell bicycle is also missing her home.

Could it be possible that someone other than Ms Trotter was captured riding her bike on those cameras???

IMO

I hadn't read any of these early reports. Maybe a backpack is also missing?

Your linked article mentions that Lesley may be "travelling with a dark coloured backpack". And it has a photo of the rear of someone (presumably Lesley while hiking) wearing the backpack.

I think I have finally found a couple of cameras. Both of them at 2 Maryvale Street on a large apartment building. One above their service entrance overlooking the rubbish bins, and one on a column at the corner of the building looking over the street entrance.

They look like the style of security camera that my neighbour has to watch over his boat. His camera has quite a long range, and looks all the way down his long driveway.

I wish they would update on these things … to confirm if that info was correct or not ???

Or was it because they thought initially she was bushwalking??? And would take her backpack every time for that activity… iYWIM???
