Witness Philip Hooper who is now 68 and on dialysis is testifying publicly for the first time at the inquest.
Mr Hooper told the court he and his girlfriend were parked near the golf course on the night Ms Finn was murdered.
He said he heard some shouting and believing it to be a domestic disturbance, turned up the radio.

But he said that was soon followed by four gunshots.
Mr Hooper said two men then approached his car and told the pair to keep quiet or they would be shot.
He said the men also told him to wait for 15 minutes before leaving, but he left sooner because he wanted to get his girlfriend home.
Mr Hooper said on the way, he saw the pair talking with a third man across the street.
He named one of the men who allegedly threatened him as Laurie Tudori and the third man as Bernie Johnson a former police officer who was the head of the vice squad at the time.

'I've been scared for 42 years'
Mr Hooper told the inquest when he looked out his window the next morning, he saw Mr Tudori standing near his car holding a rifle, and said later that day was run off the road and threatened again.
He said some time later, he had a run in with Mr Tudori who said he had planned to shoot him and his girlfriend on the night.
He also told the court that shortly after the murder, Bernie Johnson held a gun to his head.

Mr Hooper said he had been constantly followed and threatened since Ms Finn's murder.
"I've been scared for 42 years," he said.
The counsel assisting the coroner went through two statements made by Mr Hooper.
The first one was given in 1994, with Mr Hooper saying he had been too afraid to speak up before then.
He was asked about discrepancies between that initial statement and a later one in 2015.
He said he left out many details in the initial statement, including the threats, because he still did not trust police.
