A man accused of murdering his female flatmate didn't come up from the cells when his case was mentioned in a Sydney court this afternoon.

Shou Dong, 19, is accused of murdering Qi Yu, 28, whom he allegedly rented a room from in Campsie.

Police have still been unable to locate a body.

The murder case will be mentioned in court again on August 15.

Man charged with murder of missing Chinese woman

So SD apparently had not paid his rent so they must have had an argument about it which led to physical violence and he killed her. Maybe before that, she also told him to leave the apartment but he wasn't going anywhere.

We, at least, know his name now, he was only 19yo and there is a picture of him in the video on that page. Let's hope they find her body soon. I feel so sorry for her mother.

RIP Qi Yu.

Cecilia Haddad’s recent homicide was allegedly over money too.

Vale Qi. Prayers of strength and comfort for her family and loved ones x

I heard on the news that Qi’s poor Mum is distraught and still holds out hope that her daughter is alive. Thankfully, Qi’s father has flown in to support her. Looking around Kuringai/Cowan area, I believe and say Qi’s phone pinged in that area as well as her car being on the road between 8pm and 12am. Police have asked bushwalkers, etc, in the Kuringai National Park to be on the lookout for Qi’s remains or bedding :(

To think young ones choose flat mates on the likes of Gumtree. No references, nothing.
Maybe not murder but it can eventuate into a hellish life.

Michelle Ling’s body was taken to Snapper Point blowhole from Campsie.
Qi Yu phone pinged around Cowan which is on the same route up the coast.

IIRC up around Cowan phone service becomes intermittent so he could have travelled further with out any tracking.

If he made it up towards Brooklyn or Mooney Mooney then he’s around the Hawkesbury River which is a major waterway which feeds out into the Pacific.

Like Cecilia Haddad, Qi Yu might have been weighted down.

How awfully sad. I so hope they find her for her parent’s sake.

Rest In Peace Qi Yu.

It was pointed out today that if the suspect is convicted, under no body no parole laws he won't ever get out - hopefully that is motivation to talk. My heart breaks for her parents.

Many many years ago, I moved into a share house I found through a newspaper classified. One of the guys was alright but the other was trying to set up his own 🤬🤬🤬🤬 studio under the guise of offering modelling jobs. Ew I still remember the grossness of finding out.
