Some believe murder/suicide.

im not even sure how that works?

did they hide themselves?, i don't know seems a bit silly

and if somebody comes doing the wrong thing and ruffled feathers he would have challenged them

yeah i saw that as well, its somewhat interesting

i wish they had the serial number of that drone, see if it logged in to DJI software after the date they found the camp site / suspect event time

All the talk about shooting.

I nearly jumped out of my skin about an hour ago, it seemed like a lot of shots were going off and they sounded like they were right outside my window. They carried on and I thought, oh right, it's fireworks.
I searched online for anything here with fireworks happening, couldn't find anything.

Then I thought, it's not cracker night or new year or the local show. Then I thought 5th November, but wait we don't do the Guy Fawkes thing in Australia, or do we ?

Maybe it's out of lockdown fireworks or something. But it has to be something organised because we haven't been able to buy fireworks in shops for years. Maybe it's something up the mount with the cars coming back. If so it will probably be in the local news tomorrow.
I'm none the wiser :D

Russell and Carol content is I'm thinking we might never know what happened to them :(

I feel for their families :(

Guy Fawkes thing in Australia,

fireworks tonight? thought the Guy Fawkes thing was a NZ thing

but yeah i mean you reading about a possible shooting murder and then they go off outside, i can see how that might startle you

whatever happens i hope Sunday provides some more insight as its been a little stagnant recently and not much has come to light recently

like what were those 2 shovels about? and how do they know someone is covering their tracks? hopefully we find out

It's British.
But maybe it's an occasion in New Zealand as well. I hate to say celebration because of what happened to Guy Fawkes, pretty gruesome.

I wasn't really that startled after the first loud shot/firework, just wanted to know what it was as the sound of fireworks went on for about 10 minutes and being a WebSleuther I am a nosy person :)

I like to know things, hehe :D

Hoping it's not what happens here. You get used to fireworks any old night of the year. So when they blow up an ATM machine nobody pays mind.

That's terrible, true though, you get accustomed to sounds that others would be startled by and might report.

It’s also Diwali. As it’s the Festival of Lights, some people celebrate with fireworks.

I live Surfers Paradise Australian. Common noises here. If not hoons cars backfiring, could easily be a shooting. But is usually mates shooting mates.

It is? Time goes so fast. Diwali is beautiful with lights.

Maybe that's it.

"Missing campers: Car checks key to solving mystery"

Key line of enquiry in narrowing down suspects is working out who was in the valley, eliminating vehicles etc.

Further down the page on the left there is a link to an opinion story by Andrew Rule.
Says perp/s should be worried by recent success in another case.

Cold case hunt for campers Russell Hill and Carol Clay fires up

Victoria Police are believed to be close to catching the person responsible for the disappearance and likely murders of missing campers Russell Hill and Carol Clay.

In a sign the mysterious killer, or killers, might be operating in the wild on borrowed time, Victorian Homicide Squad detectives will again hit television screens on Sunday to discuss the intriguing case.

It is the Daily Mail so I'm not getting my hopes up ;)

Um, if they are "close to catching" why are they revealing that and alerting their suspect/s?

I heard Andrew say that on his podcast I listened to today.

Just watched the 60 Minutes special on this tonight. I’m now convinced they know EXACTLY who it is. They know for sure. Just garnering interest from public like neighbours or work colleagues of the killer to get additional evidence and engagement.

WTH?! Why are they only telling us about the car now?!

And they’re probably listening/ watching his responses..Bandali Debs style - cameras and listening devices everywhere.

Seriously though, if this assumption is accurate, Russell is one arrogant person. First, he’s cheating on his wife/ family and then secondly, his camp spot is taken but instead of being polite and giving the other person space, camps right next to them. So many camp spots and people don’t camp up there to have neighbours!

it seems like they are missing more eye witness testimony to put this all together or like a dashcam showing that 4WD was the same one at the camp grounds

also where their bodies are located, how very sad for the family but i am glad they are getting closer

what an animal though that did this to them and caused this grief
