Hinting at insider knowledge is against the Web Sleuth rules.

police have a suspect , more evidence needed, consider all theories as not even close. it will blow your mind when they arrest him and they will get him.

it would be best to hand yourself in its only a matter of time now.

A business matter gone wrong . Anyone gone on a very long holiday
I forgot my question marks. .
Give us a hint.
Person is known to them.

We’ve looked at his wife, his/her mates, their children, her husband, deer shooters, drop bears, wild pigs, dogs, other campers or some random redneck person who just might have followed them.

Who else is there?
I go over possible Scenarios and came up with a new one, but may have been mentioned elsewhere .. What if on the way up there, they've had a road rage incident or on a stop somewhere got into a argument and was followed up to the camp ground

Gone are the days where travellers could pull over and safely camp on the side of the road.

I had questioned bullets some time ago. I doubt a tent pole falling against the canopy would make dints like that and they are all very alike, same diameter and slightly elongated. All have a clean centre but soot around edges. I also questioned if the side mirror was missing before the trip or not.
I wonder where the mirror is ? Is it along the road somewhere on the way up ? Did they find it ? Or left somewhere bc they'd had left quickly? Russell Sounds too organised to leave it unfixed unless recent

Yes, it doesn't seem that he would drive around with a broken mirror, or with dints in the side of the canopy. Not much has been said about when they camped on the way to Wonnangatta, when you question them leaving somewhere quickly it made me wonder if there had been an altercation at their previous camp spot - perhaps over the drone use and maybe mirror smashed off. I believe the police must have managed to get a lot of info. from the burnt campsite and they just aren't saying what they found yet.

As far as I can see and in my opinion, the only person to know them both and to see them off was Carol's neighbour.

I'm trying to search through the news clips that were shown just after they were found missing.

Apart from the neighbour there's only the 'mouthy mate' who was the first person to tell Russel's wife to contact police and report them missing.

My guess is whoever owns the white SUV spotted there is the culprit/s.

Missing's Family Speak - 99.5 & 99.9 Gippsland's TRFM - Local / National News

appears Carol's family knew about the camping trips.

And if there had been a altercation ? he didn't mention it on the radio to his mate bc he didn't want any fuss or anyone checking on him ... what would you do if someone fired on you ? Would you go back towards safety, home, police, but you keep going where your more isolated . I would turn back in that scenario

I lean towards discounting the notion of an angry stranger following Russell and Carol then killing them, for two reasons:

- If I'd had an altercation with someone, upon leaving the scene I'd watch to ensure I wasn't being followed. If followed, I wouldn't continue to my isolated destination and set up camp.

- Desecration of their campsite to obliterate evidence and disposal of their bodies suggests forethought.

If Russell and Carol were murdered, IMO it was planned by the perpetrator before the couple set out for their camping trip.

After my last post where I was confident a murderer had planned to kill Carol and Russell before they left on their camping trip, now, just a few hours later, I reconsider a possible involvement of The Button-Man in the couple's disappearance.

This switch in my focus only shows how I can have absolutely no idea what befell them, but I'm fascinated by reviewing the article about Button-Man, link below, and particularly intrigued by the reported bizarre shot found on the wildlife photographer's camera.

"...They say no one knows he is near until he decides to make himself known. A wildlife photographer spent days taking shots in the area near the Button-Man’s camp. When he returned home and downloaded his photos to his computer there was one unexplained shot of the photographer asleep inside his tent. No one knows who took the shot..."

Reports about Button-Man tell of an extraordinary character – an expert bushman and stalker, a fierce protector of his remote habitat, and adept at crafting and hunting with "Indigenous-style spears."

I imagine he wouldn't well tolerate any stray drone potentially recording his activities.

No doubt LE located and questioned him, and I wonder whether they learned of any encounter between him and Russell +/or Carol, or Russell's drone.

Yes I think it would be a stretch. not so much as following them but they could of been aware where they're heading. Surprise attack. But I think either planned or hunters more likely

Im not sure what to think about button man except this. . A few years back while we were down that way, holidays in a local town he apparently goes . We saw a man who very much stood out in the descriptions, as we were crossing the road he was parked on the side watching us cross the road and if him ? the 1000 mile stare is apt and gives me goosebumps now. He's eyes are like saucers and fixed on you he definitely checks you out . Whoever it was? . In my mind it was . Doesn't make him a murderer, but who knows?

Do you remember that Russell allegedly had an encounter with Button-Man in 2019?

From Four people have gone missing within a 60km radius in the past year. Their fate remains a mystery
"Russell’s friend of almost 30 years, Robbie Ashlin, says it was on the King Billy Track about a year earlier that Russell and another mate had an encounter with a bushman who has been dubbed the Button Man...
Robbie says Russell encountered a man who was “agitated” and “let them know he didn’t want them to be camping there”.

Hi, this is my first post, but have been following this story since it happened. I found it really interesting that RH had been up just the week before. Have been reading back through but can’t remember if this theory has been discounted before - imagine for a minute RH gets to the camp site intending to do a clean up before he returned with CC the following week. RH arrives, finds someone else in that spot already, he tells them to clear out/they better be gone before he comes back in a week.. a big blow up happens, the camper threatens that if RH does come back again he’ll regret it. The furious camper later packs up but doesn’t go far, setting up camp nearby to keep watch on the spot.

The pissed off camper has a full week to plot and plan what he might do if RH does come back. A week later RH & CC pull in, the camper watches, getting angrier and angrier, then eventually explodes and confronts them..?

I have been reading comments here and there from not long after disappearances but not all the way thru. My first time ever on this type of thread. I've read about the others too . I think i do remember about encounter but vaguely. It would be interesting to know what conversation took place between them in 2019 ? His friend rob knows and wondered if he ever divulged more publicly? ..I wouldn't be surprised if it's two of them..

What i find interesting about the four is that's there's no trace of any of them .
