Human remains found beside Hume Highway in Goulburn

NSW Police say a woman alerted them to the remains in grassland off the Hume Highway on Friday morning.

Human remains have been discovered in Goulburn in southern New South Wales, police have confirmed.

NSW Police said a woman contacted them after finding remains in grassland off the Hume Highway about 9am on Friday.

Remains found confirmed to be Samah Baker.

Human remains found in NSW grassland have been identified as those of murder victim Samah Baker.
Baker's on-and-off partner, James Hachem, was last year found guilty of her January 2019 murder.
He was sentenced to 24 years in jail in May this year.

The human remains of Samah Baker (pictured), who was killed by her ex-boyfriend in a jealous rage in 2019, have been found off the Hume Highway outside Goulburn.

Police confirmed the remains were determined to be Ms Baker's after an examination by NSW Health Pathology.

A crime scene was established in the area surrounding where Ms Baker's remains were found shortly after police were notified.

'Specialist officers including Police Rescue and the Public Order and Riot Squad conducted extensive further searches of the area,' a statement from NSW Police reads.
