I just hope there will be justice and the right people are put away. No other murder case has ever made me feel so upset like I personally knew the person. I think it is because this scenario is my worst fear to happen to me as my brother was dealing and using Ice. Every night I would go to bed wondering if he would be alive the next day. And I just can't imagine how his sister and parents would be feeling.

Its so sad how widespread it is now. I'm sorry to hear about your brother I hope he's doing well

And Sam and Rob's girlfriends too.

And Sam and Rob's girlfriends too.

I know. I keep thinking about Rob's girlfriend. It was in her house......who knows what she witnessed? She's probably incredibly traumatised.

And of course, Sam's girlfriend. There are no words :rose:

I followed that story, its horrific and unimaginable.

Omg I never saw this case but the Appleton family is trouble. Nearly all of them have criminal history and have been in jail.

And the full story took so long to emerge. It may be the same with Sam, although his tale is riding a much higher profile. Funny how the media works.

Do you mean legalise pot or all drugs in general?

All drugs. Dr.s could perscribe heroin, amphetamine, narcotics & whatever else people with addictions crave. If they want to go that route as adults let them, because they're going to anyway. No need to have a Nanny state, they are not our keepers. As adults we have the right to ingest whatever we want, because it's our decision as informed adults, IMO. I don't see them having any problems promoting & advertising alcohol, which takes thousands of lives every year.

Tia's partner was in jail. One of the notorious 'Angry Boys' (hope I got that right).

The way Sam was portrayed as a missing person has really made me think over the past week. The police have never mentioned drugs and only used the words 'unsavoury characters'. The media has portrayed Sam as a loving guy, a childcare worker and an all round good guy. I am not debating that these aren't true but my thoughts are that if the police had speculated that drugs were involved, would the public then turn a blind eye and write it off as just another dealer off the streets? so many people are taken out this way that never reaches mainstream media.

I can't help but feel for all the families that have lost members of their family at the hands of others that have never been acknowledged in the public eye. In general I think we are drawn to the story behind the person, it gains sympathy and empathy etc. This is me just thinking out loud.

I get what your saying but theres no way I would want to see them legalised. I don't want my children having those drugs as an option. No way no how.

I would rather if my children were going to be addicted to drugs they did it through a Dr.s office than some sleazy backdoor dealer, who might kill them for their addiction. And to legalize drugs would be hopefully to get rid of the criminal element. Of course we all need to educate our kids to the dangers of drugs, they should even teach it in a health class in school. But drug abuse is a huge problem in our world, and all that entails. If we could minimize the dangers i think our children would be better off. Most teens will experiment with drugs too. Even if one life is saved its worth it IMO.

Yep 100% agree on that.. if the police mentioned this was to do with drugs they definitely would not of received all the help from the public in solving this case.

The police may not even have any evidence to make that determination yet?

Absolutely agree with this. Look at the attitudes even here, where we grow accustomed to delving into the dark side to which too many victims are exposed.

I think the general public would basically just have shut down to Sam's plight, if the unsavoury side was revealed, and Sam's family were unable to openly make their desperate heartfelt plea.

The police are a bunch of specialists. They put big numbers of homicide specialists on the job, heaps of detectives and then dedicated forensics. The reports will take awhile to be processed. I think they are amazing people. A true Army. I will be patient given I am sitting only slightly soggy after a very major weather event. I feel for the professionals working with the families involved with this crime, translating developments to them, but I appreciate that many are doing it tough just because of what has fallen from the sky.
I hope you are all dry and warm and have enough

Detectives will allege they can trace Boscaino and Dyball’s movements via a *series of CCTV cameras and hits on phone towers in the days following Mr Thompson’s disappearance.

On March 7, a CCTV camera near Boscaino’s home caught the Mustang pulling into the Bald Hills property where it stayed for several hours.

Boscaino will be accused of buying the tools and acid at a Bunnings store on March 10, before returning the next day to hire a floor sander.
