If they were doing drugs together it doesn't necessarily mean they were drug dealers either.
Thanks, I know the diagram you are referring to.

May have been a "turf" dispute so to speak - all will come out at trial eventually - still a lot of people disputing ST's involvement in drug trade though. That being the case I'd love to know where he got his money

Some time back I was worried he had won over their regular buyers.

A bit more info on Proceeds of Crime laws in Qld:

The law in this area is very powerful and often imposes a “reverse onus of proof” upon the accused or respondent to the application. This means that unlike in most criminal cases where the prosecution bears the onus of proof in establishing the charge, in proceeds of crime matters, the accused / respondent to the application must prove that the property sought to be restrained or forfeited is not tainted by crime.

Proceeds of crime applications can have devastating consequences: bank accounts can be frozen, cars can be seized, and homes can be sold. Furthermore, unlike most areas of criminal law, strict time limits are imposed on persons seeking to contest a proceeds application, and failure to comply can result in the automatic forfeiture of the property to the government.

Ah yeah, I do pose a 'JMO' in all my comments.

So far, with the info I have gathered, the general vibe, and local knowledge provided in this thread, it does point to drugs trade, so I am simply speculating with this in mind.

I mean, it really could be anything. But so far, I am leaning towards illegal activity and the motive being in relation to that.

"If" they were all involved in criminal activity? It really hasn't been verified yet has it? I'm not sure what to think about that at this stage, and it would be good if we knew the motive behind this murder IMO.

That is what we are searching for. Nancy Grace isn't about to leap out and tell us the latest, and they aren't booked for Judge Judy.

LOL, Nobody really knows do they? Just because ST had some things of value did the other two as well? I don't recall their flashing around expensive cars or watches and trips overseas?

I don't think they were all meeting up at 10 am on a Tuesday morning to 'do' Drugs together, I have no idea about the men arrested but Sam appears to me 'together' and if he was using drugs would it be on a Tuesday morning? Isn't it more of a Party thing?

adding - sorry this seems naive, I know time doesn't matter but I can't see it happening IYKWIM

BBM. I agree.

As detailed previously on the thread by Matey, some of Sam's FB comments allude to drug dealing.....and not super subtly, either.

That, combined with his ready flow of cash and massive spending, really all points to dealing to me. But....it's MOO.

It's not necessarily a party thing if they're regular users. Then they could indeed start their Tuesday like that.

Believe what you want. I'm not disputing it, just looking at other possibilities. I have in my younger years seen guys after taking speed & drinking alcohol get very violent and they weren't drug dealers either, enough to beat someone near to death. Its all about what you ingest and how you handle that.

Yes, I am leaning that way, too. But, I'll tell a little true story .....

Many years ago, a group of young 20s boys were off their faces drinking, all longtime childhood friends, one of them did something stupid (peed in a dad’s wardrobe, of all things, thinking it was a loo or something) and the dad’s son got in an argument with the stupid-acting one about it and ended up shooting him dead. (You can guess what country this was in.)

The shooter was not charged. The families were all friends. Somehow they worked it out between them, and the shooter will have to live with his actions all of his life. It changed him, probably forever.

However, they did not hide the dead lad, or dismember him. Someone contacted a parent, and the parents all dealt with the police and the matter together.

I know this because the dead boy's girlfriend became one of my best friends some years later.

So he said he was a drug dealer or insinuated that? Okay.

Yes, I have seen those FB comments, too. There are definitely veiled drug-selling comments imo. Along with other veiled drug-related comments, too.
