No offence Karinna, but I'm not interested in getting into a discussion about psychotic disorders. I feel it will derail the thread.

I was just responding to your assertion that no psychosis resolves without meds since it is incorrect. (drug-induced psychosis also does, as does psychosis related to post-natal depression, amongst others).

But as I say, none of this is related to this case so I don't want to go veering off into it.:seeya:

Sure, no problem. I just think it's a tad irrelevent right now anyway because nothing has been stated that AD is mentally impaired. Just speculation, so all good.

So not really a full blown mental illness/condition then? And once he murdered ST he got better and over it?

People have brief psychotic episodes. People with PND have psychotic episodes and hurt their babies. Still a full blown mental illness. Still can have a brief psychotic episode within that. Mental illness is a broad spectrum of conditions.

I see what you are saying, but by the info I linked earlier, I do not believe it could even get that far ... to be mentioned in court as a defence or influence of any type.

To me, it seems that he would be put before the Mental Health Court before that could happen. :dunno:

Agree they might shoot for MHealth Court.

Never know though, people have mounted all kinds of crazy defenses over time. Sometimes juries even believe them, even when it seems so out there as to beggar belief.

That moment where I immensely regret asking about the chances of a request for a judge only trial [emoji30][emoji30]

Sure i get that, but AD doesn't have PND that i'm aware of? I know about some mental conditions too, but there is nothing official to state that AD is mentally ill, had a psychotic break, or has PND or anything else that i'm aware of? All i was saying is it's all mere speculation at this point in time. Maybe the devil made him do it for all we know, or the voices inside his head?

Okay. I was using PND as an example of how mental illness can include a brief episode of psychosis with catastrophic outcomes. Like many other mental illnesses including, but not limited to PTSD. I'm stopping now. This is an exercise in futility.

I know what you are saying, but that wasn't the point of my post, and that's all i was trying to say, :)

If there was any talk of AD actually having Post Natal Depression, I am sure the Daily Mail would be all over it by now.
I have never seen an analogy convolute so thoroughly. Ouch.

Aaaah the Daily Mail: they'd probably say he had PND & PMS [emoji6]. I'll refrain from giving analogies or examples. Yes.I.Will.

Haha don't you love that.. ha

But I will just add, i doubt it due to the fact Daniel morcomb case didn't get a jury only and look at the amount of media in that case

Can you sketch any of it out for us?

I've found a reference to a Brisbane teenager (17 years) falling through a ventilation grille in fortitude valley may 23 2013?

Was in the Brisbane times online and mentions leg and pelvic injuries.

Ouch, that fits the timeline, but did he come from a roof?

Ouch, yes I see that, he was in some real strife!

A teenager has survived a three-storey fall down a ventilation shaft in an inner-Brisbane apartment building this morning.

It took firefighters an hour to free the 17-year-old, who may have been trying to get into an apartment via the roof of the Alfred Street student complex in Fortitude Valley.

He was freed via an air-conditioning vent and was taken to the Royal Brisbane and Women's Hospital with leg and pelvic injuries.

That's pretty crazy

How do we know it's him tho? I can't find a name attached anywhere? How did we find out he had even hurt himself to look further
