Most of the early ones are when the kids were little obviously and are pretty much petty thievery so I think we would agree to take them with a grain of salt?
Or could be dodgy insurance claims?

Ah, that's interesting. Because the way one of the thieves puts his arm around Sam in the CCTV footage can be read as either intimidating OR palsy......
Could the subsequent insurance payout on the theft of the car be payment of "the debt:?

very weird. Everything for my place and the renter next door was spot on.Faiir enough, apparently we have had 2 break and enters at my house since I have lived here, hence my questions as I haven't
reported them!
Hi, I hope I get this right but We have compulsory 3rd party (part of rego) which just covers the occupants then another 3rd party which covers the other car itself and then from their all others Levels but I would think it would be comprehensive cover though for a car like this.
Also I don't want to go back to much and this may have come up and I missed it but I would think to order a car that has up to 12 months wait for delivery (if true) you would need not only substantial deposit but show confident means of payment. I think he may have been close to owning that car ?
I feel so sad for Sam regardless of anything.

the fraud entry says it has not been solved so the occupant of the home may be the victim of fraud
I dont think any of us have accused them of being bright.I wondered that too. But you'd have to think he'd want a replacement car and it's too high end to do a switcheroo, by keeping one car and selling the other, it's such a distinctive car? Because if he was prepared to be without the car to pay the debt, you'd just sell it???? I'd imagine the resale value is good: they are very in demand. It's so odd. I think I read somewhere they found the car either two days or two weeks later: two something. Sorry!
Fair enough. We don't do any comprehensive Ins. in Aus. Just normal registration. In the States it's pretty much mandatory just to have basic vehicle insurance. It's somewhat different there to here. Just vehicle registration here is pretty expensive in comparison, about $1,000 to do that.
Then add comprehensive on top of that.
I'm wondering if Sam's vehicle would of cost extra for comprehensive being the type of vehicle it is, but don't know how that works here?
I have actually done that before in a moment of desperate sleuthing on another case :blushing:We were talking about horrible cases of mistaken identity last night. With that history, yikes you'd be careful renting that place. As for someone further back asking if Sam's parents own property, it's public info if you pay the search fee, to see the ownersSame as a revs check

True, but the alleged perps (many mistakes made to date) thought if it was missing for only a short time the insurance would be forthcoming

Hi from experience under 25 yrs old costs more and under 21 maybe even more so. Also cost of insurance for "sports" car etc and the cost of replacement I would think it wouldn't be cheap. Sorry I haven't insured a flash car latelybut am still dreaming it will happen soon hahah
Just adding each state in Australia appears to be different costs also with rego I think qld may be the dearest from what I have been told

Fantastic post! Wow....Hi all, first time poster here. Was just looking up the Northgate property on crime maps, to see the qps history on the property, and its pretty interesting some of the incidents which have happened there prior to the car theft. Makes me think that people closest to him would have had an idea what he was up to. IMOO

Organised crime groups have ways and means of getting around that by swapping vin numbers etc.IMO, whoever stole Sam's car wouldn't have been able to sell it. You have to have the correct paperwork to the RTA and have signed the vehicle over to the new owner to sell or drive otherwise you can't get it registered.
I have a sports car. In Queensland. I try not to think about the insurance, it is pretty awful. I only see the bill once a year thank god, the money comes out of my bank account monthly to ease the pain. Nobody under 25 drives it.
Is that because a car was stolen? I've been robbed a few times and the insurance company didn't ask for any of that, just police reports. It was quite a lot of stuff taken both times too.Hi it takes a while, the police are fairly quick but the insurance company for something like this would have a really hard look. Some examples they would ask for is phone numbers of bosses, pay slips, bank statements and phone records for previous 3 months. IMO
