For what it's worth, I noticed that one of Sam's FB posts refers to having just been in Bald Hills (Jan 6 2016)......(it's him with a jetski in South Bank.)

I've been all over the FB timeline and created a timeline of posts and info.
IMO there is more to all of this that meets the eye, especially with the number of crimes on the QPS crime site at the family home of ST.
that was not the only incident that night.
Out of respect for family I have not shared it publicly, but I've had one sleuther look at it and we see a few things that are super stand out items that point to this going downhill quickly. ST liked to post on FB and you can joint the dots on some posts with incidents.
Hoping that if AD and RB have any courtesy for the family they will speak up.

Sorry to hear that about your ex-husband, Marples

Thanks but it's okay. Life was a non stop miserable mental struggle for him, he's free from that now X

I've just been through Sam's FB feed more closely.

It's definitely after April 2014 (when he moved out of the family home) that he started talking about money. (eg. June 2014 - talking about $$ buying happiness.....Oct 2014 - discussing buying a $300 Gucci hat).

It all goes on from there until the present day. Trips, drug references, jet ski, fancy cars.......

That's my take on the timeline too. For me, the interesting thing is what triggered this apparent lurch forward into that.

You state the obvious and yet, gold. I can actually see that happening. Meet me at mine and then we'll walk across the pub and have a feed and a few beers. How innocuous would that sound to anyone? I do think if it was an arranged meet at RB ST did not know AD would be there. Because surely AD would just park there if were no biggie???

Dumb question: Can you wear thongs in a pub? Sam had thongs on didn't he?

so sorry for your loss marples x

Thanks. I don't like talking about me (because I feel this board is not a place for people to displace their personal life into the case) but I only added it because it was part of the explanation [emoji4]

Copy that. Because as a parent, I have to say, this would haunt me. I'd be thinking "if you were involved in something bad/in fear/in danger, How can you be small talking to me like there will be a next time? How are you not going Mum I've made a big mistake and am in a major jam now". I get he may not have wanted to alarm his parents. I get he may not have wanted to admit his wrongdoing (if any). I get he may have known he was jammed up but thought he could handle it. I get he may not have foreseen the gravity of things. But as a parent I'd be sitting here after the fact, completely over thinking if he knew/why he didn't say etc. It would be harrowing. Because in an intellectual level you can know you do not always know your child completely, but on an emotional level, I'd be asking myself "how did I miss this?"

Oh i totally agree. They would be thinking over every tiny word he said. Every movement he made everytime he blinked to see if they missed something.

Yes you can until 7pm when dress codes kick in - in QLD

"Sam…," Bruce said, his voice cracking even after a lengthy pause to compose himself.
"We love you and we're really worried sick. If there is a problem you are running from, it's nothing we can't work out.

ETA Had Bruce helped Sam work out 'problems' before, other than the home invasion?

I wondered this. No judgement but sometimes very permissive parents/sports coaches/employers constantly bail youngsters out of jams. You see this a bit where a major crime is committed and when you look back there were other things that happened that were brushed away for one reason or another (again I'll use the example of Aaron Hernandez in the US)

Aside from a case of mistaken identity, the chances of this occurring as an isolated incident would be low, I'd imagine?

Is it reported that his car wasn't there? I have herd they say Sam's car was there but I haven't herd them say ad's wasn't? They haven't released footage so maybe it's because his car was in fact at the house? Or am I completely wrong and they have released footage?

Yes. I did a similar thing to get the dates etc straight in my head and yeah, things seemed to escalate quickly.

As far as I know there has been nothing said. He could have easily have parked in the pub carpark if he didn't want to be obvious.

ST was allegedly murdered in Qld. The requirements there are not the same as in NSW. Possumheart, I believe it was, posted an excellent link and quote on the law in Qld a few pages back.

Not sure what the requirements actually are, but would of thought that the charge of Murder would pretty much be the same with some variations statewide.
(quote)
Life imprisonment in Australia is handed down for serious offences including treason, murder, and commercial drug trafficking by the State and Territory Supreme Courts in Australia.

Life imprisonment is mandatory for murder in South Australia, the Northern Territory and Queensland. Life imprisonment is also a mandatory punishment in Queensland for aircraft hijacking and in New South Wales for the murder of a police officer or other public official.

My opinion is also this murder of ST was premeditated as mentioned by a previous poster.
It will be interesting to see what comes out in court.

What I dont like is 'life' should mean till the day you die. Not just 25 years

They don't release the really scary ones, they review them and keep them in. The thing that scares me that those in for a long time for 'lesser' crimes are just thrown into hostels and come out to do some shocking things, like the Sophie Collombet case:

"Justice Lyons said Milward had a criminal history of violence and burglary offences, but no previous sexual offences.
The court heard Milward was on ice and living at a nearby homeless men's shelter at the time."

I've never seen it said anywhere that AD car was at RB. Just that AD was part of the murder and information from phones. Happy to be wrong.

Yes i agree. But depending on the severity of the crime and what is proven in court as well. There is a lot we don't know yet, but as long as LE have an airtight case for the murder charges on both RB & AD, then we will find out as the case moves along i would imagine.
If premeditation is proven, then that would go to proving intent. I'm sure police have accessed phone records, etc. and have a pretty good idea of what's what.

I don't think we can get that much from other murder cases that go to trial, because each individual case is tried on its own merit, circumstance & evidence presented, and there are lots of variations IMO. Then there are the juries that would also be different in each case and how they interpret evidence in deliberations.
No case is a slam dunk IMO until its over. But this will be an interesting one to follow.
