That is a travesty. Acquitted of Shandee's murder, but later found responsible for Shandee's murder by the Coroner.

Essentially, The Australian's defence is that Peros did not have a good reputation to begin with, so Hedley was not soiling his reputation.

I hope he loses his case.

The Australian's legals will have ensured they are aren't too badly exposed and will more likely be up for any damages than Hedley himself.

Apparently (according to The Australian article) Peros' lawyer plans to use some reddit posts - with only user names, not real names - to show Peros' reputation was soiled. He has no other "proof".:D

Tape Lift: Why did a simple forensic procedure fail in Shandee Blackburn’s murder case? Shandee Blackburn was brutally murdered in 2013. After her death, a 'tape lift' sample of cells was collected from her left forearm. A tape lift should always collect hundreds of cells. The tape lift from Shandee's arm should have held her DNA and potentially the DNA of her killer. Inexplicably, the laboratory failed to find any of Shandee's DNA from this tape lift - or the DNA or anyone else.Dr Kirsty Wright, one of Australia's most highly regarded forensic biologists, explains the process and discusses the failure of the lab to find any DNA.
