"A number of people have said they've had hassles on the bikeway and the pathway over the last months," he said.
"We're looking back at those instances and [we'll] see if we can link anything to this matter."
He said there might be further people of interest on CCTV footage who are identified, but believed there was only one person involved in the killing.

Mr Milward's younger brother, Josh, told Seven News that Ben hadn't lived at their Ipswich home for about a year.
He said their mother was "in tears" today after the pair were interviewed by police.
"If he's out there listening to this, Ben, hand yourself in. Prove your innocence," Josh Milward said.
