I wonder if the bag police are looking for is the one on chair in this photo of Sophie...

She carried a large patterned bag, in which she usually packed her lunch and text books, over her shoulder.

Her clothes and handbag have not yet been found, despite police divers twice searching the Brisbane River

Apparently, there will be a wake at Griffith Uni campus this Thursday at 4 pm.

I think I got the information in regards to the blanket wrong. In the last video of the link above it is mentioned that she was under a blanket and I first thought that this was how she was found. In hindsight, I think that it was a blanket the police put on her to give her some dignity. Sorry if I've caused any confusion.

Ms Collombet was alone and heading home after a night class at Griffith University’s Nathan campus, leaving after 8.30pm.
She is believed to have caught a bus from Griffith to the Cultural Centre at South Bank and then walked along the riverside boardwalk.
Ms Collombet was headed towards the Go Between Bridge, which leads to her home in the Vue apartments across the Brisbane River.
But she never made it, with the most likely scenario that she was attacked somewhere around the William Jolly Bridge in what police believe was a random attack.

So it was much earlier than previously reported when Sophie set out on her journey home. She was sighted waiting for a bus at 8:30 pm.

CCTV vision from at least two businesses is expected to hold clues into exactly what happened.

Police said the 21-year-old took the riverbank boardwalk after leaving Griffith's University Nathan campus at around 8.30pm on Thursday night.

She was less than one kilometre away from her Vue Apartments home on the other side of the Brisbane River.

This is reminding me of Jill Meagher, albeit Sophie's body was left in open view. I wonder if Sophie's phone was left switched on in her bag? I hope police can use technology to track down this killer like they did for Jill Meagher.

Since Tuesday, mourning covers the village of Saint-Julien-Montdenis in Maurienne. The previous night, Sophie's parents Collombet received confirmation of the terrible news: the body Friday in Brisbane, Australia, was indeed that of their daughter.
Sophie Collombet was master of international business at Griffith university since early 2013. Thursday evening, the young woman left her apartment to go to university. She did not return.
The investigators then made the connection with the body found by a walker in a kiosk in the Kurilpa Park, south of the city, and unidentified ...

Police are expected to release security footage from city cameras, which may hold clues about the final hours of slain French student Sophie Collombet.

Police also confirmed they traced Ms Collombet's movements up until 9pm last Thursday, about nine hours before her body was found near the William Jolly Bridge.

At 8.20pm, Ms Collombet left Griffith University's Nathan Campus after completing a night class of her business masters course.

She then caught a bus to the Cultural Centre and stepped off at 8.47pm.

Thirteen minutes later, Ms Collombet was captured on CCTV footage walking past the Gallery of Modern Art on the boardwalk by the Brisbane River.

The route Ms Collombet took would have eventually led her back home, via the Go Between Bridge.

So incredibly sad. This one hits pretty close to home for me. I went to the same university as Sophie (albeit a couple of years ago now), and this isn't too far from where I currently live. It's upsetting, because Brisbane isn't an unsafe place to live, but lately everyone's been on edge because of the senseless murders that have happened. Sophie was attacked so early in the evening too, I really hope someone saw something that can lead LE to her killer, it's not a deserted area that she was found/attacked, so surely someone noticed something?!
