forgive if this is a silly question but I'm not from there

is this train station open to the elements? I see a lot of water on the cement floor ...

Most above ground stations have cover over seats but thats about it. There has been a lot of rain lately in the area and it has probably blown in under the cover. You just can't stay dry anywhere when it rains like it has been. :)

Brisbane mourns, apologises for fate of French lady Sophie Collombet

April 5, 2014

If only Sophie Collembet had known how much her adopted city held her in its heart.

And how willingly many would have stepped in to protect her from harm's way.

Flowers, cards, photos and candles now adorn the South Brisbane rotunda where the 21-year-old French student lost her life in an all-too-abrupt manner 10 days ago.

Parents of murdered French student Sophie Collombet tell of moment they realised daughter was dead

April 06, 2014 8:16PM

INSIDE an old well-handled envelope kept in a handbag on the sideboard of the Collombet kitchen there is a single photograph.

It’s a private image that for now they only share with those close. It was taken a year ago and shows Sophie Collombet standing by the kitchen table surrounded by her brothers Guillaume and Lionel and parents Guy and Corrine

When Sophie’s housemate reported her missing, a friend in France found a news web page with details of jewellery found on an unidentified body. She passed the web link to the family and together with Sophie’s boyfriend Boris the jewellery was identified as those belonging to Sophie. Then came the call no parent should have to take.

Yeah maybe you're right I don't know I'm not an expert in these things. I just think guys like this have a mindset that even if they know the police are after them they believe in their mind that they can evade capture. It may be a different matter if he is cornered, but then I think this guy is a coward.

I just hope he pays for the crime if he is the one responsible.

I agree he's a coward, just like majority of criminals. They're also stupid, because of that, IF he's still alive, he'll make a mistake & will be caught.

They have no remorse, they don't care a dot for their victims..... their only care is for themselves & the drugs.

They hate police, but more than anything else, they hate & fear being locked up in prison = no more drugs.

Sophie Collombet’s parents will tonight compose the hardest words they will ever have to put together - the tribute to their daughter which is to be read at the vigil march.

Sophie’s brother Guillaume said his family was moved by the city’s plans.

“We really want to thank Australia for the support they have offered us, it means a lot,” he said.

“We would like to write a really nice message to be read out.”

The Collombets have been inspired by the support they have received not only from Australia but from within their local village in France.

It's all so very sad but at least her family now seems to find some relieve in the support from people in Australia and France.

Presentation[1][2][4]
Abusers typically self-administer the drug in 'runs' of several days, with intervening periods of abstinence.[5] Whilst on a 'run', an individual may stay awake continuously for up to 10 days with little food or drink. Prolonged sleep and mild dysphoria occur as the drug wears off.
Immediate subjective effects include:

Euphoria.
Increased alertness.
Increased energy.
Increased libido and enhanced sexual pleasure.
Decreased inhibition.
Decreased appetite.
Decreased need for sleep.
Peripheral actions arise due to the indirect sympathomimetic effects of the drug:
Tachycardia.
Hypertension.
Palpitations.
Tachypnoea.
Sweating and hyperthermia.
Dry mouth.
Decreased gastrointestinal (GI) motility.
Dilated pupils.
Tremor.
Central actions may account for some of the other typical behaviours and movement disorders seen such as:
Jaw clenching.
Repetitive jerking and choreoathetoid movements.
Compulsion with repetitive tasks ('punding').
Formication (sensation of flesh crawling with bugs with associated compulsive picking and infected sores).
Repetitive movements, hyperactivity, and difficulty focusing thought are sometimes referred to as 'tweaking'.[4]

I wonder how much of the stuff he is known to have and how long this period of tweaking is expected to last before he presents to a hospital or a morgue.

If his only source of income is Centrelink I wonder if the police will somehow get that suspended so he has to make contact with a centrelink office and perhaps the police will be notified when this occurs(though perhaps they wont do this as he may act irrationally and injure someone else in an attempt to get money)

It's totally suss he hasn't come forward yet. .and that he's apparently done a runner..nothing I see is painting a picture of an innocent man in the slightest. Praying he is caught soon. Guys like this will no doubt do something just as awful again without the slightest provocation.

I'd guess he'd steal before trying to contact Centrelink, but you never know. IMO

Terribly sad, my heart goes out to her friends and family.

Some people on Courier Mail's FB site are wondering if Milward is wearing prison greens in this photo .. or army greens.

Someone made a comment about Ipswich or Toowoomba - have we heard Toowoomba mentioned before?

"All clothing and personal belongings will be taken and stored, and the prisoner will be given prison 'greens' (clothing) and basic toiletries."

"Most suburbs in Toowoomba are suitable for members posted to both the Army Aviation Training Centre (AAvnTC) at Oakey and Borneo Barracks at Cabarlah."

http://www.dha.gov.au/housing/location-spotlights/toowoomba

ETA: The prison greens are for NSW, so unless he lived there at some point his clothing may very well be army greens.

Wasn't that Townsville? (Too many Ts ... :) )

When asked about a possible child and former partner in Townsville, Inspector Kemp would not specifically comment.

“We’re pursuing all those lines of inquiry, any associates or acquaintances he’s had,” he said.
