Verdict is in: 15 years imprisonment for the sexual assault; life imprisonment for the murder.
back on line now, still in the preamble, I think.. I don't think the sentence has been pronounced,....
this is a murder that falls within the worst category
his crime can be meet with only one response.

No utility for parole for aggravated sexual assault, life (never to be released) for murder AFAIK.
The judge went thoroughly thru a whole lot of possible sentences, and the reasons for those, and then he got to the reasons why none of these reasons from other cases (precedent) would apply, in his judgement ,in the matter of R v Stanford.. then he got to the crux of the matter, and said,
I am fully satisfied that this crime falls firmly within the 'worst case' category.... .
poor merrilyn scott, .. dear god. she is out the front of the court in Griffith, on a beautiful spring day, as beautiful as it gets out in the Riverina.. ah. .. god help us, I cant watch, or even hear, crying too muc..

of course there will be an appeal, it is embedded in the legal process of NSW, mostly all across Au, so that wont be a surprise, it will merely be a formality, but disturbing and distressing none the less for her family and the people of Leeton and Griffith, and all those little towns, Barellen, Gowrie, Yanco.. . .

I honestly do not think there was ever going to be any consideration in regard to his pleading guilty.. consideration in the matter of a discount on the sentence, which generally, people who plead guilty can expect, and often get . His own brother got a very generous discount on his sentence for pleading guilty, a full 25% and that was granted after the low end of the core sentence was decreed.
I don't know if Vincent expected a discount, for his guilty plea. I will probably never know. I know I hoped that would never happen, regardless of his saving the court's time, and the public money, and all that stuff... ..
The judge found absolutely no mitigating factors in either sentence, which is correct. And plenty of aggravating factors.. but even then , some people have got the discount for pleading guilty, but not Vincent.

well.... it was only a matter of time before these previous deviant attempts became public. Who is surprised?. not me. He didn't suddenly become an all out depraved violent murderer.. he was building up to it, and there goes his story of 'just suddenly feeling he ought to kill'.. that was ********e from the very beginning, and how he kept a straight face while telling it is a whole other story. Come to think on it, he actually couldn't , he was giving little smirks.. . he's been thinking and planning for a very long time.

Justice Hulme said soon after Stanford moved to Leeton in March 2014 he began covertly photographing and stalking a young girl in the neighbourhood who has been given the pseudonym of “Joanne” to protect her identity.
“Police found numerous surveillance type photographs of Joanne on the offender’s camera. There was video footage and a further large number of photographs on his computer. In total, there were 1805 images of Joanne; many showing her in her school uniform from the waist down.
“There are also numerous photographs of other school girls and adult females who were passing by the house. There were also numerous images of bestiality and pictures of other young girls...
