It makes sense why CMs consistently kicks customers out.
It may have to do with trying to curb intoxication, but I’d say it has much more to do with $$$... letting people in by collecting a cover charge, and moving them out again as quickly as possible. Earning money for nothing.
I imagine a lot more people get kicked out whenever there’s a queue outside ($$$) as was the case when Theo was there.
I’ve read several CM reviews claiming alcohol was ‘watered down’, another money saving tactic.
And they constantly give backpackers vouchers for free meals and drinks that never end up being free.
What I’m trying to say is, the place seems like it wants backpacker dollars for as little as possible in return.
No wonder the place doesn’t allow local people. It seems like they are swindling a bit and they obviously have *some* ethics... like not swindling the locals, lol. So I don’t buy the whole, “Theo disappeared because a local got jealous he was let into CMs”.
I find it odd that Theo pretty much immediately started playing a drinking game and partially sculling when he got inside, despite the rule that everyone knows you’re not allowed to drink fast in there.
A couple of reviews mention scenarios where a customer was flirting with a girl but got kicked out because the security guard or his friend was into the girl. I believe it, but I think it was misunderstood...
So I’m wondering if this too is a tactic. Using girls to get guys to drink too quickly so they then have reason to kick them out? That girl dancing with Theo was actually pointing him out as next to be thrown out? Something along those lines.
I maybe overthinking it and I don’t really know or think it has anything to do with Tennyson St, just business choices.
However, I too am VERY curious at what security guard whispered to Theo as he let him out onto the street.
