Or a football. Theo liked footy. Chucking a ball around the slab and a decision to have a game on the beach.

23:56pm ball gets kicked up the hill and Theo searches for it. Returns to beach.

Possible.
Skateboard?

The phone stops tracking when he/it returns from the lantana to the beach.

He or the phone may have then gone to the Tallow car park and sat in a van parked there with another or others. The messages and YT clip may have happened from there.

Sure but 'time is ticking' and we have already flogged CC to death, so to speak. Not much focus has been on that 7 minutes in town. We start to focus on it, and then a few of you turn the topic back to CC. What are the chances of an 18 year old male late out in town in winter on a busy alcohol fuelled Friday night in Byron Bay being killed via a 'king hit' vs 'falling off a cliff'?!

The thing with a king hit is it’d come as a big shock and most likely be witnessed. The perp you’d imagine would just get the hell out of there. It’s kinda bizarre to king hit a guy, remove the body, and run off with the guys phone to CC and pretend you’re him. Why bother? There would be blood, a body, potential personal belongings lying around in the dark, and the terror of being caught. You’d turn and bolt as quickly and as far as possible.

Yep. Skateboards work best on cement (over grass) so you’d stay on the slabs.

What causes you to move around only on the cement slabs? To stay within its confines, but not stand still?

The pacing back and forth on the slab would be a good thing to replicate on the OPPO phone over the next few days whilst they have the phone in possession.

Does anyone know if Theo could skateboard? The back and forth could of been him doing a trick line on a skateboard. That was my first thought when I heard about the concrete slab movement,

The crew from Tennyson could of offered for him the have a roll one of their skateboards?

Sorry I didn’t see your post @BusterXP

Could of been a game of SKATE. Could of taken about 7 minutes. Roughly that long when I’ve seen it played. Depends though.

SKATE, also known as the Game of Skate, is a skateboarding game using rules based upon the H.O.R.S.E. game played by basketball players.

One player sets a trick by doing a particular skateboarding trick of their choice. If the trick is not landed, another player attempts to set a trick. Once a trick has been set (landed), the other player(s) must respond by doing the same trick in their first try. If they make it the game continues; If every one gets the trick the player who set it gets a point if they miss it, they get a letter, starting with S, and so on, until they have missed five tricks, spelling SKATE, and they are out or the game is over”

Game of Skate - Wikipedia

Skateboarding is popular with TH age group. Also a lot of youth from my town hang around concrete slabs at night drinking and skating and listening to music.

Is there lights that shine on the slab?

Oh thanks Sparks, if I’m the only one who hasn’t moved past CC, then I am absolutely fine to remain with CC as nothing is known for sure and it would be myopic to not keep open to all scenarios because currently nothing is off the board and everything is equally debatable.

Seven minutes on the slabs to suss him out and take him out? It’s public, populated and risky.
Coercing him to go to a secluded location on the premise that it’s a nice walk along the beach home is also as possible. Theo may have tried to exit this situation whilst on the slab, hence the described pacing from corner to corner. Or he may have tried to exit down Cowper Street, hence the zigzag movement. Or he may have tried to exit at the T intersection, hence the momentary pause to check GMs. Scaling up into the lantana may have been to hide or an attempt to reach the CC trail above. Interestingly his family hold that he was at CC, and they know more than any of us.

Move on as you wish, and I’ll bat for CC until I hear something compelling from the rec fields.

Yes, everything is still debatable.

Based on the theory that others were involved in Theo's disappearance...

Does anyone think that it was premeditated and planned by someone else?

Who could have been interested in Théo's disappearance ?

No. No indication of that. Knowing Theo's movements in the 48 hours prior might clarify.

I lean more so towards:
opportunistic and predatory,
opportunistic and impulsive,
opportunistic and accidental,
or opportunistic and random.

Fair enough Rocket. It’s a strange position to be in for us to want to join our collective brains together to help the family, but also know that they could but aren’t helping us. Makes you think about bailing from this expedition, but I seem to be hooked!

Could TH met some people at the wake up hostel bbq before going out that night. Those people say weren’t interested in going to CM. So when TH gets kicked out of the club he writes to that person or peoples to see where they are. Could have been communicating with each other in a app that family don’t know he has an account for? Also could have been communicating with this person before leaving CM.

Could be a girl he likes? Could be to score drugs?

They tell him to meet them at tennyson. Could Tennyson have been where he wanted to hang that night but after 7 minutes something happened to make him and friends from wake up change their plans. Like a resident of the street telling them to move on or a member of the YAC or even if they were doing something illegal something as small as some head lights coming down the road could of scared them off.
They all run and someone suggests to go to tallows?
What do Tennyson and CC have in common?

Dark? Known hangouts for youngsters? What else?

IMO

True, unless it happened on grass. The cargo container provides some screening too.

Since Theo was known to be a strategic planner, does anyone think he is on the run or suicided? There was mention of his parents divorcing, so maybe not looking forward to returning home. Would getting kicked out of CM trigger him into a more unhappy, self harm, risk taking mindset that evening?

I don't think it's got anything to do with the homeless in that area (who don't travel far and might not have mobiles). More likely gang members from out of town who probably all communicate with mobile phones. Then trace those mobiles and see if they lead to the coastal suburbs surrounding Byron where these gangs are known to come from prior to the incident. Then see where they went after that 7 minutes. One went to CC, one or more of the others drove Theo out of town, others split and went home. All IMOO (which has been evolving like others on here)...
I'm thinking if this is the case, then at some point in time someone will slip up. Like you, I don't think it has anything to do with the local homeless.

These "blow ins" possibly come and go in one or two cars?

I wonder if any CCTV has been kept around the end of Tennyson or surrounding exiting streets? The cars that were there and seen leaving at certain times could possibly be identified. Long shot...

If he was going to commit suicide why was he even bothering looking up on GM his hostel?

I have been wondering that myself. Spending a lot of time by himself and with strangers over the months in Australia. Did he have any bad experiences during those months? Was he really enjoying the thought of starting Uni? Things were over between him and his Belgian girlfriend (had she started a new relationship?) Getting kicked out of Cheeky Monkeys while all the others stayed to have a good time. Alcohol being a depressant ........

No idea.

I don't think it was premeditated. I should have added that. He'd only been in Byron for like a day.
