Homicide Squad detectives are appealing for public help as they investigate the deaths of three children who died when a car driven by their mother veered into a Melbourne lake last week.

The mother has told police she felt dizzy. Police especially want to speak to a woman with a pram who went to a house and told the occupants she'd seen the car go into the lake.

The mother of three children who drowned when their car plunged into a lake in April has been charged with their murder.
Akon Guode​, 36, was charged with the murder of 16 month-old Bol and four-year-old twins Hanger and Madit​ at an out-of-sessions court hearing on Monday. She was also charged with the attempted murder of her six-year-old girl Aluel, who was in the car as well but survived the crash.

I noted in this article it says she said she hadn't been in any trouble "since arriving in Australia". This makes me wonder if she'd been in trouble prior to arriving in Australia? Or was it just a phrasing issue because of the use of an interpreter?

I remember an earlier article said detectives had removed a computer from the home, so they must have found something incriminating. Otherwise how could they ever prove she didn't pass out or have a seizure?

She's either pure evil or truly mentally ill to be able to plunge into a lake in a car and watch her children drown. My guess is she is mentally ill, was suicidal, and thought they'd all die and it would look like a tragic accident.

I can't forget the little 5 year old thinking crocodiles ate her siblings. Poor little girl.

Ms Chabiet (Akon Guode's eldest daughter) told the court the wife of the children's father, Joseph Tito Manyang, had been threatening her mother. She said her mother became too frightened to interact with the Sudanese community.

Why the children have to suffer because of the mess of a life their parent leads? They didn't ask to be born.

Police allege Akon Guode, 37, deliberately accelerated into the Wyndham Vale Lake, on Melbourne's western fringe, doing laps of its entry point for at least two hours before the fatal incident in April last year.

She didn't count on her movements being recorded. Her eldest daughter and the children's father stand by her. It's a pity she was shunned by her community for the affair, it's a harsh world where people can be very cruel to one another, maybe she wanted to die too, who knows, but she didn't, her instincts for survival kicked in and she saved herself, the motherly instinct was completely erased. Sad and tragic when children are sacrificed for any reason, guilt, shame, revenge.................. in the end it doesn't matter, the result is the same :cry: JMO

Police said Goude had a high chance of fleeing to South Sudan on someone else’s passport if she were to be granted bail. They said she owes around AU $12,000 to Centrelink.

He also testified that she had sent close to AU $100,000 to family in South Sudan since 2008.

An evil mum is set to face deportation after serving at least 20 years jail for deliberately driving her car into a lake, killing three of her children.

A fourth child survived the “horrendous crime” but watched in horror as her siblings drowned.

Justice Lex Lasry yesterday conceded that Akon Guode’s sentence could be seen as “inadequate”.

But he said others might well call it “excessive” due to the troubled mum’s mental state at the time.
