The whole business thing (including foster kids) seemed like too much of oiled machine to create in the short time they did.

And note she was 12 when she went missing, this would have made him 18 at the time, he's 19 now. I believe there would be hundreds if not thousands of 12 year old girls having relationships with 18 year old guys as people attending high school would be between these ages.

I know incest is wrong, but both being young, I feel both wouldn't see this as being an issue, hey kids these days do whatever they please.

I have two girls in high school and so I know parents with children older and younger than mine, and a 12 year old having an 18 year old boyfriend would cause major alarm bells. A 12 year old having sex with another teenager under 16 would still be disturbing and worrying, but 12 yo with 18yo is criminal. Physically and/ or emotionally, a 12 year old is not equipped to handle a sexual relationship, and if a 12 year old is drawn to a sexual relationship, then there must be some dysfunctional past issues.

All this is just general debate as there doesn't seem to be any evidence that Trent treated her like a girlfriend or that they were "in loooove" and couldn't keep their hands off each other. No matter which way the Thorburns spin it, this was an opportunistic sexual attack on a young girl relying on their protection. She was a little girl, just starting to develop, and maybe old enough to have her period if the family was concerned that she might be pregnant. She wasn't old enough to be having sexual intercourse, and legally she wasn't old enough to consent.

Exactly. I think it would be classified as statutory rape because Tia was still a child legally.

I don't think one has anything to do with the other though? And WT's case i think the only connection is he was also a FC. And BS's case remains to be seen, because it has still to go through the court system, but he has not been charged with anything to do with WT's disappearance yet as far as i know. Whereas in Tiah's case we know the perps. are the foster family.

The key in what you said is "and a 12 year old having an 18 year old boyfriend would cause major alarm bells" YES it certainly would....to adults not to teenagers. Let me put this in context, my teenage children do a similar sport to dance. These kids are a group, a family of sorts, and its almost like they see no ages among them. When you are in the "elite" group (the group that competes/does show cases) that group gets tighter. One of my children's birthdays is the best demonstration, for her birthday party it was only her tight group of friends from sport......9yrs to 18yrs were the ages that came to a 13th party. It may seem strange to people whos children are not in sports like these (it did to me when mine first started) but thats just how it is with these sports.

I reckon you are a bit of a blood hound, yourself, CS....... . they didn't become accredited foster carers in QLD until 2014, August, 2014... this is why I think Tia was their second or at the most third placement,.. in Queensland.. I don't know how to search for this info in Victoria, but at least there is always Austlii..... it's too well oiled, for sure, and also his behaviour when sprung.... this wasn't the first time coppers had banged his door down, I reckon..

so they had been in QLD in 2010, 2011... then, truck driving?.. day care? .. then in 2014, accredited as foster carers........... got to be something in that pattern.
