The primary focus of the inquest, set to take place on June 8 and 9, will be to learn “anything else” including what actions Thorburn took to kill his foster daughter, how he disposed of her body and how Tiahleigh spent her “last moments”.

I do wonder if anything is to be gained by this, Thorburn appears to have very few marbles operating , he says he can't even remember who his wife is, I don't know..... God alone knows what murky nonsense his brain retains.... what a horror.

You don't think that that is an act to cover up his awful abuse of that little girl?

At what point do they think a liar tells the truth?
Thumb tacks to the nether regions might only excite a cretin like that.
Good to see you Troops.

Nothing would surprise me with that foul pig.

What I think is this... I think he is congenitally unable to face the truth about himself, his sons, and his wife and their very deep conspiracy . That's what I think.

I also think Thorburn is not operating with a full deck now.. his mental faculties have disintegrated , probably due to some genetic flaw.

He was once able to move thru the world, in a small way without raising dust, but now, and prison hasn't helped, he probably is going without diagnosis or supervised medication, his capacity for retrieving memories , filtering memories, understanding his own memories is unreliable.

This is not to say that I am not curious about what he plans to say, or may appear to be forced to say... I am taking the position that he is of diminished capacities, intellectually, and whatever he says now is suspect.

Nothing in this dark wild world, TGY.. Thorburn is most likely the repository for every sexual deviants therapy ramble and Thorburn has no way of extracting his own actions from those he has heard of. It's all one to Rick.

Foster father 'suffocated' Qld schoolgirl (msn.com)

Unsurprisingly, Thorburn recalls the occasion with himself starring as a befuddled old chap faced with a terrible conundrum, oh dear a naughty girl that requires the discipline of Good Old Rick.

This is a sickening read, an exercise in rat cunning, and really, nothing more, there was never , ever going to be any truth or remorse, or even acknowledgement forthcoming from the mean lips of Thorburn.

His entire life has been predicated on the simple motivation, to look as sober , as blokey , a simple sensible chap with a fondness for little tiny girls that sometimes goes a bit too far, because of their inherent naughtiness, not his, naturally.

Thorburn has a long , horrible, endless time to spend in the company of men who , despite their lack of IQ have outrageously escalated senses of entitlement, and as long as Thorburn portrays himself as a sort of low level paramedic, accidentally throttling young girls who trip over in his driveway, he may survive the the scorn and contempt of his fellow prisoners, and their peculiar perspectives of judgement, which , occasionally, they like to dish out to each other..

Not that many of even them would believe Thorburns improbable tale, not for a New York minute, so it's more than likely Rick will meet with an immovable force in the exercise yard one day, someone's out of control bar-bell will 'accidentally' fall on him..

The inquest heard a taped phone call between Thorburn and his wife Julene that occurred shortly before the inquest.
During the call, Thorburn was heard saying, "if they want anything out of me in the courtroom they can tell a heap of people to f*** off".
"Otherwise they'll get nothing, I'll go to the grave with what I've got."

'I am truly sorry': Rick Thorburn says he thinks he accidentally suffocated 12yo foster daughter Tiahleigh Palmer
No one believes that. Not him, his creepy sons or his enabling wife. I don't doubt that he suffocate that little girl, but not when she was leaving the house, but when he was sexually assaulting her too. Never let a chance go by. Disgusting, ugly man.

He probably thinks the blokes in Cell Block B might buy into his ridiculous yarn.... I'll bet they no more believe him than you or I do, Bops

I believe his wife and his sons have absolutely no doubt about what went on that night, that's why they left the house, left him to it, and left her, the poor little darling to him , to deal with as he wanted to. .. the vileness of them has no limits.

And I have to think that whichever person or people in charge of that little girl's foster care, thought it was appropriate for her to be placed in a home with two adolescent boys, should be questioned why? Were they of a like mind?

The point is, he's been recorded admitting that he could remember if he chose to. He's eligible for parole after twenty years--and I hope this makes it less likely that he'll get it. Though perhaps he won't live that long.

(How come Julene is still talking with him?)

Are adolescent boys a higher risk than middle-aged men? It's the men (and women) in a parental role who have the power . . . to tell everyone the child is a liar and to stop her from leaving.

It was decided by someone with the instincts of a Kardashian fan. Bedazzled by the all singing, all dancing, gelled up hair sons, the horsey Julene, the blokey Dad.

One of the things that was a real eye opener, to me, was this. It's not snobbery.. They were renting their residence, they had been in trouble in the last house they rented, and someone in authority should have asked if renting children was seen as an income stream, neither of them having what anyone would call a regular job, they were not stable people. They didn't have a stake in where they lived.

They were not appropriate on any level at all.
