When the elder Tostee comes to collect him, he asks if he needs to go to hospital.“Why,” his son asks.
“Well, it’s traumatic,” he responds.
Tostee explains to his father that he and Ms Wright had watched a movie and had sex throughout the course of the evening but that she drank heavily.
“The last thing I remember is trying to hold her down and she ran out onto the balcony. I hope I just imagined it,” he says.
“I might have locked her on the balcony ... I absolutely did not throw her off my balcony. I would never do anything like that.”

She was in a foreign country in a strange city,

Yes. So what. I doubt she is the first person ever to experience that. What do you think?

she met a guy she knew nothing about, was in a strange apartment,

All of her own choice.

was completely messed up on moonshine,

Moonshine. I'm not really contesting that, but.....sure, I agree she was drinking heavily by her own choice.

could not find any depth in the guy and just wanted a safe landing pad ie. her room,

Seems to me she was hell bent on assaulting him.

and he locked her in a confined space when she probably couldn't see properly.

Rubbish. I've not heard any evidence to that effect.

So she flipped out, and the bottom line is that he completely failed in his duty of care, and ran away.

What 'duty of care?' This is not a civil Trial about negligence. It is a murder Trial.

And to top it off he was recording her to share with other completely shallow guys to compare tips on seduction.

So what?

OVER AND OUT

Cheerio.

Me thinks the little cement mixer needs to sign on to Websleuths to find out where one stands. Slightly transparent, and somewhat not worth biting at.

Than attend the Brisbane Supreme court & hear the evidence....you will find what you are after there.

Why? I get a comprehensive coverage of the days' events in the media. I certainly would not rely on anything posted here without direct links. So what if they watched a movie. Where does that take the matter?

No folks, never been on Trial myself.

Gabe was really editing his story for Dad.. he got a bit confused, and as soon as he did, he relapsed into, 'why does all this happen to me?.'...not an ounce of insight...... I wonder why he wanted his father to believe he was watching a movie.. maybe it had some significance to his dad.. btw, Dad didn't sound too bright, either... a bit slow on the uptake..

I heard the tape of that conversation. I heard none of what you describe. What I did hear was what I'd expect to hear from someone who had nothing to do with some drunk off their face person trying to climb down from his balcony 14 floors up from ground level. How do you reckon you'd go in those circumstances?

Read on and decide.

excellent advice, too, emirates....... such is the determination to be front and centre and take the wheel that it is likely your wise advice will be ignored by the scatterbrained element....

Murder doesn't take long to premeditate.. 20 seconds is usually all it takes, sometimes less.. . premeditation does not mean months and weeks.. I think he did murder her, and I think he thought it would be ok as she was a foreigner, alone in a city she didn't know, and also, I think, there is a bit of him being of South African heritage and Warriena being of Maori heritage that interested him .... and his belief in sale-ability of his puerile recordings, as titillation for the unwashed among his aquaintances...

The result from the assault from the telescope may have caused confusion.

Not sure he complained of said specific assault. Did he? It seems obvious she attacked him on several occasions including perhaps with rocks, but I'd like to hear more about the telescope.

You think. Where is the evidence that he did anything which killed her and that when he did so, his intention was to kill her. This will be good. Where's the pop-corn.

I understand there is some sort of desperate need to portray men as victims, but common sense would surely show that the most efficient forum for that exercise would be over the dead and damaged body of a man killed by a woman? surely trying to promote the idea of Gabe as Victim is just like pushing 🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬 uphill with a pointed stick, since it is Warriena's body that is on the pavement?..

This is such an obvious error, it seems peculiar that it needs pointing out, but there it is, some people just don't get it. So.. for the peanut gallery , once again. You need a forum where the body is a man and the killer is a woman, and again, I say good luck in finding that forum.

Trying to push the idea of Gabe being the victim has the strange air of a Lucia di Lammermoor Opera with lots of screeching arias, no plot and a vanished conclusion.

And that has what to do with some discussion about a murder Trial....this murder Trial where Tostee is the accused?

Gabe is the victim of circumstance. The outcome of the trial and the jury will determine if he is a murderer. But just because he's a male, in an apartment at the same time a drunken female fell from a balcony doesn't automatically make him guilty of murder.

He may be guilty of being an *******, a sleaze, skumbag, whatever we think he is, this doesn't mean he's a murderer.

You can't deny he was getting assaulted at a time when clearly he was in a calm state.

this is your opinion, and you are clearly entitled to it. I don't share it. I believe he did murder her, and it is my contention that a jury will find that to be the case as well. Your defence of Gabe doesn't automatically confer upon you the entitlement to slag off the victim though.. so far, your only effort in defending Gabe is that he has testicles, that is all you base your conclusion on, an odd position, but hey, do I care? ... ''

He was not in a calm state,, he was affected by alcohol and he was excited about his secret recording. ..
