Far canal! This bloke is a total nut job! Nut-jobby enough to put Rie onto the ledge of his balcony, run inside and close the door IMO. Eric Thomas! WTF!! Wonder if he's a friend of Bruce Overland?
Makara you make me laugh!!

Re: The name change - Its one heck of a way to try to get back here on Websloots after a ban.

And if the plan was to be a little more anonymous in the world - it lasted what, a few days?

Re: Tostee's multiple DUIs we hadn't heard about...

Isn't each case judged on its own merit? Priors don't form part of the case, I thought...? Correct me please.

I have a very limited legal understanding, but didn't think charges can stack up and accrue against future charges.

This to me could explain the short jail time?

Although my personal view is that negligent or risky driving including causing death does not attract long enough sentences, imo.

Thomas Towle comes to mind. Drove into and killed 6 teenagers at high speed in a country town in Vic. He was paroled after 7 years. For six young lives. He had 40 prior convictions and 3 prior jail sentences. None of those could be brought to court. Dreadful. His licence was only cancelled for 10 years.

I wonder what is next on the agenda ... a facelift? Change that face that is so well known now?

He is such a goober. Don't people usually change their name after they have been through their trials and convictions? So that their new name is not recorded against their convictions? Like slimey pedos do.

I would imagine that now his convictions will be recorded as Eric Thomas aka Gable Tostee - or Gable Tostee aka Eric Thomas.

I've been having a quick look to see what things are affected by the name change (what he can get away with now that he has blackened the Tostee name and discarded it).

It seems that anywhere that he needs a birth certificate as proof, he will also have to show his deed poll certificate to use the new name - eg: on a marriage certificate, on a passport.

And because he had to provide the courts and police of his new name, both names will be kept on file together - so he can be readily identified by them by both names.

Tostee has had to inform police and the courts of the name change.

But I don't see the pizza problem. Can't you order pizza without giving your real name anyway, or any name at all if you are in the pizza shop? :giggle:

If I were trying to carve out a career in film/tv/music, don't think I'd appreciate having a 🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬 brother with same distinct surname muddying the waters. Try Googling 'Tostee' and you'll see what I mean. Unfortunately, too little too late.

Just another ploy to try and distance himself from his crimes. I wouldn't be surprised if there is some hidden joke in the name chosen that only his brahs will get. Can call himself Bert Newton for all I care, just as long as he stops using the word puerile. That word has become soiled.... repeatedly.

Tostee's in jail.... Tostee's in jail.... world a better place for now :happydance:

For future web optimization purposes, I shall hereon refer to him as "Eric Thomas formerly known as Gable Tostee".

Could the name change be for his passport? Could he fly out without being detected?

Dramatic weight gain or plastic surgery....

I had a thought & chuckle to myself last night...

In hindsight, Tostee Snr's bizarre reaction to Eric-Thomas-formerly-known-as-Gable-Tostee's phone call that fateful night is part of a bigger picture. Possibly desensitized to the "Dad I think I may have a situation" calls in middle of night. Imagine this: arriving on scene to witness his tyre-less, banged up, steaming rimmed car being loaded onto a tow truck and son being bundled into back of cop car. "Were they jealous son? Were they jealous you clocked 200km/hr?"

Here's to the passengers, Police & fellow road users who could've easily lost their lives that night of the pursuit, as a result of this arrogant ------------- trying to please his loins. The sentence received is a joke and an insult to us all.

I have a problem with anyone who takes more from this world than they contribute. I also have a problem with anyone who enables others to do it.

Wasn't it the passengers who woke him up and asked for a ride?

Finding it hard to believe his word on that. IMO can't see Tostee catching z's while there's prime weekend tail to be chased back on the golden strip. Just another pattern of behaviour, trying to distance himself & minimise responsibility. Like when he told Tostee Snr that Rrie had been drinking heavily (pause)... oh and so had he.. mumble mumble.

Apparently
But it was Eric Thomas aka Gable Tostee that did the crime and is now doing the time.

Teehee - Bruce Overland - I am still laughing at that stupid name...
