I agree. At the risk of being ripped to shreds for saying this and I imply no callousness whatsoever, but I think it's a bit selfish to not proceed with charges because of the fear of the damage it would do to the children. The fact is, by the time a trial rolls around, the damage, physical and mental, is already done on those poor kids. But the upside of pursuing it is stopping other kids from being abused. JMO

The one thing I wonder about this is that who made the decision not to proceed further.... It is highly possible it was the family. Obviously I don't know if that's the case. but it may of been and if it was I understand in part. Sucks now if that means further victims but I can imagine putting a child through the courts is quite traumatic.

There was a post earlier though about the inconsistencies in the ff story. I'm not ever trying to put the blame on them but I noticed it as well. The interview came out and it was stressed it was a surprise visit. Then the next day it was reported that BS was told about the visit. It was odd as the media releases have been so calculated. Surely not meant to discredit the ff. It did start the gossip about bs knowing William was coming. But it did also mean the ff believed this and they must of known fg told them about it.

As they had physical evidence, it should have been easy to convict him then. I wonder if he paid the mother off.

It all sounds very fishy to me. Maybe some people felt guilty so did not disclose until later or police did not want to disclose it.

Yes there have been some inconsistencies.
Making it difficult to piece together.

The boy vanished from the front yard of a relatives home in Benaroon Drive Kendall at 10:30am.
I realise this is a very early report.
Then it has been all about William running around the side of the house.
When Jubelin gave his thoughts about what may have happened 18/04/2015 a couple of days before BS arrest.
He said - you see a 3 year old on the road. Which would be considered the front of the house wouldn't it.

IMO the confusion was due to the layout of the yard. It's on a corner block and the way the house is positioned it's hard to tell which is the front yard.

I thought the surprise part was they where going the night before. So they arrived Thursday night instead of Friday morning.

I tried emailing Greg Bearup with an address I saw on his twitter account. My e-mail failed and was sent back to me. Anyone else want to have a go at contacting him and ask for clarity about the Father being contacted on his mobile that WT was missing and he raced home to help search as reported to him by Inspector Fehon?
Yes, I agree. The two articles with contadicting information are both from The Australian and Greg Bearup was the writer on both of them and a criminal reporter called Dan Box if my memory is working well, worked on the 2nd article with Bearup. I looked for a contact for him cause I wanted to confirm with him that he quoted Inspector Fehon correctly in the 1st article which was published on 20/9/14. The 2nd article resounds with information that the FP gave in their interview. The 2nd article was published 18/4/15.

IMO it has been obvious to me that William was abducted (in a car) since it was reported that the sniffer dog lost his scent at the beginning of the driveway. Those dogs IMO are very reliable yet the bush searches still went on.

I agree Estelle
There was a lot of mention of the front of the house early on.
Mum at a front window able to see down the street.
William missing from front yard.
Then the focus was all about the side of the house.
Even Colin informed us BS had walked down the side of the house 4 days earlier.
Mum never actually said down the side or back of the house in the interview - just it was 2 to 3 meters.

The porch looks to be 2 to 3 meters to the carport area.

P: And when you arrived no doubt the kids jumped out of the car and ran to nanna.
D: He (William) is always looking out for me and my car and I was on my way back......He would not wander he would not even cross the street by himself.
M: If somebody were to entice him across the road he wouldn't do it , he'd run back.
M: We were going to wait for Dad to come home ....we were going to go out - we had our day planned.
Jubelin: You see a kid on the road.
Jubelin: were talking about a minute or two when William was not supervised.
Mum thought immediately he had been taken.

I know it has been said that no one heard a thing.
Is it possible that they did and thought it was Dad arriving back William darts off to greet dad at the place he had jumped out to run to nanna through the carport to the road....1 or 2 minutes no Dad no William.
No it was not Dad - hence confusion as to whether he was with Dad and Mums immediate thought her son had been grabbed and moved on.
I am assuming that Dad parked the car in the carport because the bikes are there.

Sorry guys I just cannot help thinking about this little fella and nothing seems to make any sense.
I hope there is some news real soon.

That would make sense. Even though it has been said that no one heard anything, it's hard to know what to believe because the story has been so inconsistent.

The dozen or so cars parked out on the street all belong to people involved in the investigation – with the exception of a washing machine repair van.

Standing in the quiet, listening to the rustling trees, it seems unlikely a car could drive up Benaroon Drive without being seen or heard by someone.

* Benaroon Drive has been closed off to the public.
* A small group of reporters shown around by Fehon only after phoning the family to ask if it was alright.

The area was still closed off when BS returned to do that repair.
That comment by Fehon - electronic footprint.
We know only because Colin told us much later (after he was a declared poi) that BS had deleted his call log.
I wonder if he reset his whole darn phone ? imo

Where is Colin, anyway? Surely he's due to let slip a new little nugget of information for us to drool over...

Yes - I remember the photo of that scene for some reason it seems burnt into memory. It seems to have disappeared from MSM. The police cars were blocking the street and speddings van was parked at a strange angle almost in the middle of the road amongst the police cars. I remember thinking that nobody would be able to get through the street with that many cars/van parked at those angles. I think they had an idea even then - letting him onto the "crime scene" to fix the machine maybe to see how he acted-it seems unbelievable that they would want somebody else amongst the chaos of the missing child/search

I have never seen the photo.
It has always seemed strange to me that he was called back in the week, and if he was let in behind the barrier then it seems clear that it was LE that wanted him there. imo

Who knows. Maybe it's finally dawned on him that Speddo is in some serious *****.

Yeah, his updates were the equivalent of throwing chips to a bunch of seagulls, the seagulls being us. Still can't get over the one about the clairvoyant.

The seagulls are starving!

I remember the pic too. You could make out some of the writing on the van, that it was a repair van. I wish I knew more about how the police work with the media. Would they have that pic removed if it was a setup by police to get Spedding back to the house?

On the other hand though.... The sightings of his van at the search scene were completely legitimate.....he did have a reason to be there.
