The mobile phone reception in Kendall is atrocious and *William’s dad, a consultant, has to deliver a Skype presentation, so at 9.15am he drives to nearby Lakewood to get a reliable signal.

so williams father was probably seen driving past the kendall cellars cameras on his way to lakewood, which is 10 mins away, and this is probably how his whereabouts and time etc was verified

Yes bear and I suppose who ever the skype call was too and the length of time that was and then drive back could also be verified - you would think.
In my opinion Dads alibi would have been the first to be checked and double checked.

It is not up to detectives to identify a suspect and throw all their resources into getting the brief up on them.

Instead, they meticulously work on excluding suspects. That also means delving into those closer to home.

I know there are legal reasons for not showing the foster parents faces but, in this case, I think seeing their faces would be a positive. A memory may be jogged by their face by someone who did not see William. I am not accusing the foster parents of anything. I just think no stone should be left unturned to assist in the search for William.

I don't think so. Personally, I think police are working like mad behind the scenes. They keep quiet for long stretches of time, then hit us with another media blitz... then silence again.

Where the hell is William?! I hope there is a break in the case soon :(

i heard on the news today if you go to google maps and type your name in it can come up where you were recently, so i typed in william spedding in inverted commas and this place came up

MacArthur Advertiser
Campbelltown Mall Medical Centre
263 Queen Street
Campbelltown NSW 2560

wonder if it was him going there to put an advertisement somewhere, or it may not even be him or may be from ages ago? just found it interesting with the connection to campbelltown etc

Interesting. Just for the hell of it I typed Bill Spedding into Google Maps. Below is a screen grab of the result.

kidspot!! thats a little disturbing! and in victoria?
im wondering if all the media and publishing places are coming up because they have wriitten about him because surely he wasnt in nz within the last year? or maybe he was, because nsw police did send a request to nz for any sightings etc and some person reported a couple heading to nz with a child who looked like william, which was a false alarm?
why would so many newspaper places come up, could he have been driving around putting adverts in for something? and isnt there a local newspaper along from his "office"in laurieton?

Bearbear I think Google maps is only picking up on what the Google bot finds online. So the Macarthur Advertiser at Campbelltown probably published Spedding's name at some stage. Similarly the Wellington (NSW) Times, the Braidwood Times and the New Zealand newspaper (published by Fairfax Media) have probably also published his name. The Kidspot in Melbourne is baffling though.

maybe they write a kidspot blog like mammamia and written about him on there?
its strange though because a friend typed her name in and got the last location she used gps on her phone driving around?

Oh how we prayed for a wonderful outcome like this for little William.

Missing two-year-old found in Queensland bushland
A two-year-old girl, who vanished with the family dogs earlier today, has been found safe and well after a large air and ground search around the south-east Queensland town of Ipswich. Dixie left her home about 11am, accompanied by two dogs – a white Bull Arab called Bella and a Blue Heeler called Rina (pronounced Reena), and her family later raised the alarm.
She was found about 3pm in nearby bushland by police sniffer dogs and helicopters.
Her own dogs remained at her side during the ordeal and were present when police arrived.

One of the dogs reportedly ran out of the bushland and alerted police.

I didn't know about this until you posted bearbear. Thankfully nothing comes up relating to me when I put my name in.

Sorry Makara, I didn't see your post above until after I posted.

Yes, it is a bit creepy.

I take this with a grain of salt - have just typed in my own name (on laptop) and got a map of downtown Philadelphia (and I'm a Queenslander) as well as my son's name and got equally bizarre results. And we both use the google maps app as a navigation aid when driving - maybe those people getting results that hit close to home (in the linked article) are searching for themselves on their phones and it's their own history coming up? I just typed in William's name and got a zoomed out map of Australia with Channel 7 Australia, Kidspot, The Redland Times, and Port Macquarie News marked.

Good point about using their phones catswhiskers. I'm using a PC and none of my family's names show up either.

I'm the same, on a pc and not getting many related results for my family members or my partner.

How good are those dogs TGY! Animals are just awesome aren't they. Great result for that little girl and her family.

Gotta love those dogs. So pleased this little one was found safe and well.
