MS is not the first wife to support an accused child molester. Remember the Robert Hughes case? His wife was extremely high profile businesswoman and no doubt intelligent.

I just don't get it. I mean, how could they not know?

It doesn't even take a wife. I remember when a local school principal was convicted of child sex offences, one school mother refused to believe he'd done it because he'd been so good to her child - even though he pleaded guilty. She took that as further proof of what a good man he was, pleading guilty to spare the children the stress of testifying at his trial. I mean, there's stupid, and then there's wilfully stupid. That really drove home to me what an uphill battle victims of sexual assault can have, because there are always people who will disbelieve them even in the face of a confession and a guilty plea.

Anyway, if random school mum chooses to believe in the innocence of a self confessed paedophile over the testimony of his numerous child victims, then surely it's even easier for a wife to believe in the innocence of her husband over the physical evidence of sexual abuse on a toddler, especially when accepting he's guilty means irreparable changes to both their lives. MS's support of her husband is hard to understand and hard to stomach, but it isn't rare :l

My mind went into overdrive last night regarding the photo of BS & MS in the Sydney Morning Herald. (Photo: Brendon Thorne)
Could this person be the "B" that is related to William?
Can you please post that link for that photo? I can't seem to find it. Thanks :)

When you have time, would you please summarise the article. I have tried without success to open it. Thanks.
Sorry about that. I thought it was the one without the darn paywall because it opened up for me. It basically says what the other articles say but with the extra part about Spiderman being in the van the day WT went missing.

For example, if you were trying to get your children back (and some people don't actually have the IQ to realise this won't help them do that) wouldn't you leak the information to the press. They probably don't really care what the information does to the POI or the case as it stands

That is what I was alluding to previously.

I didn't think of WT til I read the article again. It's intriguing.
I thought of wt as soon as I saw this on the police fb page as well. So vague and doesn't even say if the child is a boy or girl which is bizarre?

Thanks krig101 but does it say that MS said it or that it is understood BS had it in the van on the day?

I read through some of the comments with this post the other day and from what I could understand someone seen a child snatched from a bike and walk off into bushland. No body had come forward to report a missing child so it was all quite strange.

Did any of the children claim that it was their toy?

No. I havent seen anything in MSM

Mrs Spedding last night claimed the whitegoods repairman used the doll “to keep him company” as he travelled around the Port Macquarie area performing jobs.

“That belonged to one of the (children) that he got when he was four,” Mrs Spedding said.

“(The child) left it in the van for (Mr Spedding) to keep him company when he was driving.”

Asked if detectives’ suspicions were aroused by the link to young William’s superhero outfit, Mrs Spedding said: “I gather so.”
